Chapter 3: Finish studies

Do it, just do it, nothing can stop you from dreaming big, stay in love, stay loud, stay lowkey, stay lovely. The world is waiting for you. Shine on your own now, the world needed you. Don't end things too soon.

To finish studies was once of the hardest but most fulfilling thing to do. A student will suffer a lot from the school, outside the school and also with the school projects it is not always easy as it may seem. But being stubborn, lowkey, weak and crybaby is hard. You will feel like you were out of place, not belong, not part of the clan. Will get bullied will be accused to many things.

But one thing is for sure high school would be fun but stressful, but still it is fulfilling all the memories you create will remain forever in your hearts. All the crying, all the hatreds, all the friendship, all the betrayal. All the things that will make you feel alive, will remain memories. Will become your stepping stone, your learning gorund towards stepping to the real world. It is not always flowerful, beautifully made.

Some memories will make you feel ashamed, some will make you feel so proud, but always rememeber you were just a kid who long for learnings. You wanted to learn, explore, and enjoy. You may break some rules, but never go beyond. Never move against the limit. Never be imporson into your own thoughts.

High school, middle school. That years will give you fun and crazy memories, when you were just a kid that do not care about life. Someone who is happy with your allowance, with your new albums, photocards. Someone you thought you were in the high clouds. Being indulged to different movements, trying to make change but it is so hard. It is all okay, because you can't just go or you can not just win against the world when you were still young. When we were young, we make msitakes, we learn from them, reflect and never do the same mistake again.

It may be hard to understand now that you are young but eventually time will come. you will notice that all the post cards, signages, motivational quotes, rules and guidelines that the school created means a lot. That your exams is not just a paper, you will soon learn that life is beyond school. But as long as you were still high school. Enjoy the moment live your life to the fullest. Enjoy your free time, or maybe love your alone time. Don't be indulge in their way of having fun, you will have fun on your own company. Make friends and lost them that is life.

You are just a high school, a dreamer trying to reach the world trying to be the best of all. You may have lost sometimes but it is all part of the process. Marcus and Katie were friends

“Marcus!” Katie waved her hand from the outside, Marcus do the same too. It is Monday 1 week before their class starts. They agreed to each other that they will come together to buy for their school supplies.

“Marcus, I am all ready, how about you,” Katie shouts from downstairs while Marcus is there at the staircase walking towards here.

“I am ready, anyways mom handed me her card, I do not have cash, Our driver is on his vacation too,” he informed her friend and she just smiled.

“Well, that would simply mean that we will take the public transportation!” She shouted out of excitement as if it was so easy to commute.

“But—” Marcus got cut by Katie’s thumb when he was about to complain.

“No buts, it will be exciting, do not worry I know how to commute, my nanny thought me when I was still little,” She assured it and Marcus believed on her. They walk from their house all the way to the bus stop.

It was not a boring walk because his friend was there making noises, she is telling him different and very random stories, her usual thing when they met.

“You know what, I plan to buy a new set of highlighters and books, well mom told me that I can use her money,” She boasted him and she just received a head pat from her friend, she then rolled her eyes onto him.

They ride a bus, Katie was seated on the window side and Marcus was on the aisle side. They were laughing at each other while taking pictures as a sign of memory for their first-ever solo road trip and riding a bus.

“Commute is not that boring,” Marcus told her and she just laughed at him.

“It is not actually boring it is fun, isn’t it?” She asked and Marcus agreed to her, it was Marcus’ first time and he is happy that he is with a trusted person he is not that afraid for he believes and trusts her friend.

“Well thank you,” Marcus thanked Katie and Katie just pushed his head using her index finger.

“Silly,”

When they arrived to the mall, they immediately went to the Bank to withdraw some money from their parents, and when to the time zone to play instead of buying their school supplies.

They were laughing and enjoying the moment, they tried the casino games and even the g*n shooting, Katie even went to the videoke bar to sing along, and Marcus accompanied her wholeheartedly. They were laughing and almost cried when they lose their money to the games they played.

“At least we had fun, let’s eat Marcus I am starving,” Katie called her and dragged him to the nearest restaurant. Marcus did not say anything and just followed Katie. After eating they entered a bookstore and started to buy things for the upcoming school year.

“Which one is better?” Katie asks Marcus to show the two scientific calculators.

“I think the blue one,” he said and Katie nodded onto him.

They strolled around and Marcus’ basket was already full of a book while Katie’s is full of highlighters and pens. Marcus is a fan of books while Katie loves art.

“You are really a lover of books,” Katie told him and he just smiled.

They went to the cashier and they uses their parents’ cards.

When they were done they went home but at the moment Katie’s driver went to pick them up. While on their way home, Marcus started reading his books while Katie is trying to figure out how to use the techno-highlighter she just bought.

Their vacation week is finally over and the students were now entering their schools. As its usual look a fine and noisy school, full of fun, creative, and intelligent students.

“Fierro!” Hylos called his friend as they smiled at each other. Same old days students were happy and excited for the first day of classes.

“Hylos” Fierro his friend called back.

The students were happy to see their friends again. They are hugging each other and greeting each other. They are asking each other how was their summer breaks and all. Their smiles were endless their happiness is seen in their eyes, their smiles were genuine.

Marcus was walking with his book, he continued to read it. It was the second book he bought from the bookstore. He is enjoying the books he just bought.

“Marcus!” Someone called from afar that made him smile. It was Katie smiling at him.

“Hmm, let’s play rocks, paper, scissors.” The girl told him while laughing. As her usual way of greeting Marcus inside the school.

“Whoever losses will treat snacks and lunch!” Marcus nodded and they did play the rock, paper, scissors. Five bets and the girl wins. Marcus just shook his head, he never won towards her, he is always the loser.

“Unfair.” He said, that made Katie laugh so hard.

“Dude, just accept your faith.” The girl said laughing and even tapping his head, he just shook his head as they headed inside their school.

Every student was busy chitchatting with their classmates, obviously missed each other while the two were finding their classroom.

“How was your summer?” Marcus asks the girl and the girl started to state what happened during her summer break. He did not have enough time to ask her this last week because Katie is unstoppable in bringing up her idols.

“We went in our province to enjoy some spare time, even had a small get-together with my cousins. We tried different rides in the newly opened amusement park there. There were lots to experience in the province, can’t believe that I managed to ride a carabao. Another thing is we always go fishing in the river near my aunt’s house and we swim now and then.” It was visible on Katie the discoloration of her hands but it still fits her well.

“It seems like you enjoyed your summer vacation,” Marcus said and the girl nodded aggressively.

“How about you? I heard you went to Europe.”

“Yeah, and that was not the best idea my parents have ever done. My cousins were way older than me so I didn’t enjoy their company. They were all grown old man.”

“You’re such a bully.” The girl said and smiled at each other. They were talking about a lot of kinds of stuff until they reached their classroom.

“Have you heard about the bullying incident in the school near us?” Her friend asks him.

“Haven’t heard any bullying issue, is there something?”

“Yeah, from Ashton’s I think the woman was super traumatized, she even stopped studying too I think they sent her abroad or something.”

“What did the bully do to her?”

“Punch, kick, physical and emotional attacks. Well, that was what I heard.”

“Did they get punished?”

“They’re still minor, I think they’re not, just got expelled.”

Marcus just shook his head and tried to change the topic, he hated bullying issues because he felt it before. He was once bullied in his school not until he entered the same school with his only friend. The bell rang and they hurriedly go to the open field for the official welcoming of the students. Students were super happy until they had their first classes, first activities, and everything. All of them are jolly and enjoying the company of each other.

“Marcus!” His friend called him but she was not alone anymore she is with some girls so he got shy, he just waved his hand to her and went straight to the canteen. But little did he know that his friend followed him.

“Hey.” The girl stopped him while he was heading to the single chair in the corner.

“Um, you can enjoy your company with your new friend.” He said that made the girl laugh so hard.

“Well, don’t be jealous Marcus you were still my favorite. Let’s eat together.” The girl said and even hugged him in his neck it made him feel awkward but since they were best friends since they were little he forgot about it.

“Don’t worry too much.” The girl said as she winks.

Marcus shook his head when he heard that from Katie.

“She is still the silly girl,” he whispered in his mind.

The school was filled with noises when they heard a piece of alarming news. It was a suicide incident.

“Good morning students, we are here to announce you that there will be no classes this afternoon, your classroom advisers will be there in your classroom to guide and advice you for what you are suffering right now. For we do not want to have the same issue. We do not want anyone to punish themselves, we are family in this school.

The suicide incident that had happened in the Davidson Academy will be a wake-up call to the dean’s office, faculty, and other staff to be there for the students, school is considered to be your second home so you must be treated well as if your mother and father were taking care of you. There is no need to worry about the bunch of school works, we had a meeting with the faculty and we planned to lessen your burdens in giving a bunch of school works.

Stay safe everyone, do not stress yourself. And if anyone knows the girl who committed suicide from the other school, I condemn with a heavy heart, condolence, and sorry for your loss.”

Katie wondered who was the girl, and she felt sad for her. She hated hearing this kind of news especially when it is connected to deaths and another thing, she do not want to hear someone dying in such a situation and she felt sorry for the girl.

“Are you okay?” Marcus asks him while they are walking towards their classroom.

“I am sad about the news, I felt sorry for the girl.

“Let’s buy bottled water first,” Marcus suggested and she nodded, she feels like she needed water.

They are walking towards the classroom and Marcus is there calming her, he knows how kind Katie is, and hearing such news will make her sad. While on the other hand there is a girl, in her hoodie walking and caressing her stomach, she is in pain. She did not know where she could go. She is from the Davidson Academy, she is crying while she is walking outside, she wanted to scream and hate the world but she still manages to walk firm until she reaches the nearest clinic.

But the doctor is nowhere to be found. She is in her senior year and she is crying while remembering how awful her senior year experience was. And then she let go of her bag to take off her jacket. When she was about to inject the IV on the veins in her hand the doctor entered the clinic, fresh from fast food chain, she is holding her take out food.

“Oh my gosh! Who are you?” The doctor asks and the woman faced her crying.

“Oh my gosh! Stay there, you need to lay down, do not worry my love!” The doctor is already rushing, she do not know what to do anymore, she searched for the unused syringe and injected an IV on her wrists and then she told her to calm down.

“Calm down, my love!” She said, she is so fine talking she is making sure that she is not scaring her.

“Stay still my love, I know it is painful,” the doctor told the girl and she nodded still crying.

The doctor finds the glove and wore her PPE, the lady is now crying hard, probably because of the labor, it is natural then for a pregnant lady. The doctor carry all her things and even the dress kids.

“Ahh!” The girl scream because she is so much hurt.

“Calm down my love, you will give birth to an angel now.” She said in a calm tone but the girl is still crying.

“Ah!” She shouted and cried as if asking for help.

The doctor told her to push, and she did. But the baby is still not coming out, she told her to push harder and then the baby finally come out from her womb.

“Aww, a lovely baby girl,” The doctor said adoring the baby. But suddenly she got panicked when she saw another head coming out from the mother.

“Oh my gosh!”

“Another one my love, push!”

“Push!” the doctor told her and then finally.

“Aww, another lovely boy,” she said and adored the babies.

The doctor took care for the teen mother and then she told her to regain her energy and then she washes the kids and clothed them.

“Adorable,” she admired the babies.

When the girl was awake she wanted to move out of the clinic, but the doctor stopped her. She does not want the child.

“I am not ready for this, I just keep them because I do not want to be a murderer,” the girl said that making the doctor sad.

“If you don’t mind, do you know the father?” the doctor asks her and she just takes a glimpse of the two lovely babies and cries.

“I hated that asshole!” Did she say in her angry tone that made the doctor wonder why maybe got bullied?

“What about your parents?” she asked still making sure she is not entering the borderlines.

“They are in jail,” she said that make her sad.

“I do not have anywhere to go, I only have myself, I do not know how can I feed them, so please do the favor,”

“No I won’t, but I promise to take care of you three,” the doctor said and she smiled.

“I know deep in our heart you wanted to keep them by your side. I will allow you to be their mom and you will leave with me, but promise me one thing.”

“What is it, doctor?” She asked the doctor.

“I want you to finish your studies.”

The girl got her tongue-tied, she do not know how to react to the doctor’s words.

“Finish my studies then.”
