Renee
"Mom, what are you doing here ?" she turned around and held the gun to her temple.
"Brianna, put the gun down." Jim said. She bursted into more tears. I just felt bad for her.
"Why should I? I just wanted to change for you, Renee for all of you. I though Ms. Hattie told you guys that I had them. I basically have nothing to live for. I have no family all because of Michael." I started to cry too.
"No, mom I didn't know. You never told me." I kept walking close to her and she kept moving back, with her finger on the trigger.
"If I put the gun down, will you speak to me and we can have a normal conversation without someone assuming something ?" I nodded my head in agreement and she turned to Jim, awaiting an answer. I elbowed him and he shook his head.
She dropped the gun and Jim grabbed it off of the concrete. I looked at him frightened.
"I'm going to get rid of it. Which means throwing it in a river." I nodded and he held it cautiously and went to the car to dump it somewhere.
She ran and gave me a long, much needed hug. I guess one more chance won't hurt nobody.
"Mom, I don't understand." she smiled at me, showing her teeth.
"You called me mom." I sucked my teeth and brought her inside. She sat down on the couch and recieved dirty looks from everybody that walked in.
"What is she doing here ?" Joyce asked me. She looked disappointed because I brought her into the house.
"Joyce, she tried to kill herself over me because I didn't take her in for who she was." I sighed and looked down.
"She is a changed woman, look at her. She looks clean, isn't scratching or nothing. I owe her a chance since she is my mother." she sighed and embraced my mother into a hug.
"Sorry for automatically assuming you were the same old Brianna. Everybody changes and we should forgive but I'm not going to forget what you did." she nodded and sat back down on the couch. Joyce pulled her back up by her hand.
"You look hungry. Let's get you something to eat." she smiled and they walked out.
"Awww, that is so cute." I jumped and seen Jim. I shook my head. I walked over to him and laid my head on his chest.
"Where is the gun ?" I mumbled into Jim chest.
"Away from here. Far away from here." he looked at me and we went back into the backyard.
"Joyce, where is my mother ?" I asked as she stood, talking to her friends.
"Over there eating. Like it's her last supper or something." she chuckled.
"Yea, I guess she ain't ever had a good meal in a while." we both laughed. I decided to walk over to her and communicate.
"Hey mom." she looked up and cleaned her hands off and swallowed the food in her mouth.
"Hey. This food is amazing, though." I smiled and sat down, just staring at her. She looks like the same woman I met before she went to drugs. Hair is on point, no acne or dirt on her face and white teeth.
"Renee, did you hear anything I just said ?" she said, snapping her fingers in my face.
"I'm sorry ?" she just smiled.
"It's alright but I said why is everybody staring at me in disgust ? I mean I'm a changed woman." she looked down and I felt bad.
"It's probably because they think you are still the same. Just ignore it and let it go." then some man walked up to us.
"Are you Renee ?" he asked. He resembled Jim but he was darkskin.
"I'm sorry, but who are you ?" he just licked his lips and chuckled, still eyeing me.
"I'm his father, Clinton." I stood to give him a hug and he squeezed my ass.
Jim
I was just enjoying my time here with everybody. The twins was playing tag with the other children.
I looked over to see Renee talking to her mother. I just remember when we were dating and when we got divorced.
Then my dad, or Clinton walked over to them. I hate this man with all my guts. He has been abusing my mother for all these years.
She gave him a hug and he grabbed her ass. I ran over there and tapped his shoulder.
"Excuse me--" I cut him off by punching him in the face. He fell back and crashed into a table, thankfully with nothing on it.
"Why you touching on something that's not yours ?" I was about to stomp him out, but Renee pulled me away.
"Stop Jim." she pulled me but I moved her hands off me, but not too rough since she is carrying my seed.
"So you defending this nigga now ?" her eyes got glossy. I softened down and pulled her into a hug.
"No Jim, I just don't want you starting nothing here." she pulled me into a kiss.
"Yea, you better listen to your girl." he said. I slightly moved her out the way and got into his face.
"Shut up, you f**k nigga." he just chuckled.
"Jim, stop. Just--" she ran back inside holding her stomach and mouth. I chased her as she ran into the near bathroom and threw up what she ate earlier. I held her hair until she was finished. Renee went into her shirt and grabbed a mouthwash.
"Don't ask." she got up and flushed the toilet and cleaned her mouth out. We walked back out hand in hand to see 'f**k nigga' getting help from the table. But it still didn't stop no one from having a good time.
"See Jim, you wasn't the only one who had to deal with a neglecting parent." she said and I chuckled.
Then I heard the doorbell ranged. We decided to both get it in case somebody tried to do anything.
She opened the door to reveal a tall darkskin dude. Buff as hell. Like he fresh out the gym or something.
"Renee, long time no see." he tried to hug her but she stepped back.
"Is that who I think it is ?" she asked, biting her lip nervously.
"Yes, it's me Rodrick."
