The Bartered Bride

Chapter 4: Disaster

Alpha Drew was driving and with the music blaring we were all having a blast. We finally made it to the mall. We all got out and I started walking next to Alpha Drew while Shayna was walking closely with Thomy. It was a comfortable silence. Shayna and I went into the same store as before to find a new dress. She pulled this one, which was a long, royal blue, with some beading on the bodice. It looked gorgeous on the hanger and she made sure I tried it on. I fell in love with it the second I put it on, then she had the sales lady bring in some silver heels. I was not a fan of heels either. I prefer boots, but unfortunately I can't wear them with a dress. We bought the dress and shoes and left the store. As always, the guys were hungry, so we went to the food court. We all agreed on pizza, so we waited for it. Watching these three eat was like watching my brothers eat.

I had this strange feeling I was being watched again. I looked around but didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Shayna looked at me and I just shrugged.She then linked me asking what was wrong and of course I said nothing. After the pizza, we decided to walk around a little.I still had that strange feeling. The guys walked into a gaming store, which I actually wanted to do myself. As I was looking at a game, this guy came up to me. He was looking at the same game. He asked,"Did you play the first one?" I looked at him and something about him just made me extremely uncomfortable. Thankfully, Shayna, being the most amazing best friend, came over and said we had to go. We left the store and Thomy said he wanted to go to Spencers and, of course, we all agreed. Who doesn't love Spencers? Shyana and I found the jewelry, Thomy found the hats and Drew looked at the shirts. Shayna got a new belly ring and some earrings, I got two packs of tongue rings, since they are on sale. I was trying to enjoy the day but I still could feel that nagging sensation that someone was watching me. Drew came over to me and asked what was wrong. I said nothing but he didn't believe me. He walked away but kept an eye on me. I was looking at the coffee cups and shot glasses, when I saw the guy from the game store. I thought that maybe it was just a coincidence, but then I heard my brother Camron's voice in my head telling us we needed to come home immediately. I linked Shayna and we all left. As I was about to get in the truck, Drew opened the door and put out his hand and I took it. I climbed in and when I looked behind Drew, I saw that same guy.

One the way home, I linked Shayna and told her, but she didn't know how to keep her mouth shut, so naturally, she told the whole car. Drew's face did not change but his eyes said differently. We pulled up to the house and I saw the warriors running on patrol when it was their day off. My brother, Cameron, tells us we need to head to dad's office. I rolled my eyes and kept walking. I didn't knock on the door. I just walked in. Dad was not happy. I stood in front of him but I did not say a word. Shayna,Drew,Thomy,Cameron and Damien came in and stood next to me waiting for my father to get off the phone. When he did, he stared for a moment. He asked me,"What happened at the mall this time?" I looked over at Shayna and said," You really don't know how to keep your mouth shut can you" She just shrugged at me. I rolled my eyes. I then told my father that I felt like I was being watched again. Then, as we were pulling away, a group of guys was staring at us. Dad then said," You are not allowed to leave the premises until further notice." Knowing me, I rolled my eyes at his statement. Before he could say anything else, I left his office.

I went to the kitchen to check on the food and party decorations. The party is tomorrow and I really hope it goes well. I'm a little worried that something is going to happen. I mean I shouldn't worry about it since we will have patrols and we have a solid plan, but I still can't trust this guy. I don't know him and my grandfather promised me to him. I felt a presence behind me and I automatically knew it was Drew.It was like I was being pulled towards him. I hear my wolf purr in my head.
