The Bartered Bride

Chapter 3: The Alpha

I heard someone moving around in my room. I woke up and opened my eyes and saw Shayna walking out of my closet tossing clothes everywhere. She is making some weird noises. I rolled over and put the pillow over my head. She noticed and proceeded to go over to bed. She then sat at the edge and proceeded to say," Happy Birthday!" I sat up and she handed me a cup of coffee, which I so need right now. I hear a knock and grumbled," Come in." The door opens wide and standing there is Damien, Cameron, my mother and my father. My mother seems the happiest with the biggest smile on her face. They all said, Happy Birthday very loudly and cheerfully.

They left the room. I went to get a shower and change my clothes. I went downstairs for breakfast and all I could see was bacon, pancakes, waffles, fruit and so much more. Apparently they wanted every kind of food available. I sat in my chair and there was a nice sized cup of coffee in front of me. I sipped while I piled food high on my plate. Everyone was talking amongst themselves, when I heard a female voice I did not recognize. I ignored it and kept on eating while listening to the conversations around me. A few minutes later, I heard it say, " Hi, my name is Snow, I am your wolf." I didn't realize everyone was just staring at me. I felt odd. I thought I had lost my mind. My mother comes over to me and shakes me out of my daze. She asks, "What's wrong?" I shake my head for a moment and finally reply,"I heard a voice in my head, she said her name was Snow."

My mother smiled and said, "Oh honey, that's your wolf. You hear her before you meet her, which will be tonight." I finished breakfast and went down to training. About an hour later, I heard Shayna yelling my name. I stopped what I was doing and waited for her to reach me. She asked," Where is your dress?" I replied, "It is in the back of my closet, on the right side." Then my mother mind linked me, asking the same question, and now I am completely confused. They both can't seem to find my dress. I asked Shawn, our head warrior, if I could be excused. He gave me a stern look but knew I never leave training early, so he let me go. Shayna followed me to my room, where my mother was waiting and the three of us tore my closet apart.

We decided that now I need a new dress. The only problem with that is I have to be here to greet Alpha Drew, his Beta and Gamma. The three of us went to my father's office. We entered and he did not seem happy. My mother explained to him the situation and he stated again that I had to greet the Alpha and his people. Shayna mentioned the brilliant idea that we go back to the mall after I greet them. Surprisingly, my father agrees.

Shayna and I went to my room so I could shower and change. A few minutes later, my father mind links me and tells me the Alphs is here. I look at Shayna and say,"It's show time." We walked down stairs and opened the giant door. We stand on the huge,wrap around porch, and wait. About fifteen minutes later, a gorgeous black Dodge 2500 pulls up and three large men get out. One was maybe six foot two, with short blonde hair,another was maybe six foot, with short brown hair and the third was about five feet ten inches, could have been six foot too, with reddish brownish hair.

As they walked up, my wolf started pacing. I could feel this odd energy and then this amazing smell. Campfire and coffee. I heard Shayna ask,"Do you smell that?" I looked at her confused,"Smell what?" She smiled and said," Mint and the forest after it rains." I felt a little pain in my chest. She didn't smell the same thing I did but she smelt something. Does this mean we have the same mate? I then heard a male voice say,"I am Alpha Drew and these two are my Beta Thomy and my Gamma Logan. "It is very nice to meet you, I am Alli,Alpha Ralph's daugther."Someone cleared their throat and I looked to see Shayna waiting to be introduced. "This is my best friend Shayna." She shook their hands but lingered on Drew's Beta Thomy. We all walked into the foyer and I stated," Ya'lls rooms are on the fourth floor, make yourselves at home and we will see you tonight at dinner." Thomy and Drew both said," Why at dinner?" I said," My apologies Alpha, but it seems my dress for the party has been misplaced. Shayna and I were going to go to the mall and get a new one. I just figured ya'll would be tired from your long drive and would like to rest." Alpha Drew said, "That is very kind of you, but we wouldn't mind escorting you ladies.How about we take my truck, since it is right here." I turned to Shyan and she shrugged her shoulders. I mind linked my father telling him what was going on and he agreed, so I hopped into the passenger seat while Shayna climbed into the back seat in between Thomy and Logan.
