The Bartered Bride

Chapter 6: After the party

It is the day after the party and my father requested us to meet him in his office. While there, my father received a mind link from a guard at the gate. He was informed there was a female requesting to see my father. He told the guard to escort her to his office. When they entered, her eyes went wide. She had long,brown,matted hair and her eyes were almost emerald green but they were red and puffy like she had been crying. She was tall but very malnourished. She had her eyes cast down after seeing everyone. Before anyone could say any word, I spoke. "who are you, why are you here, what happened to you?" She still just stood there. It seemed like she was thinking, but she could have been really scared too. After about twenty minutes, my father spoke. Why are you here, what pack do you belong to, what happened to you?" Again, she didn't say a word. We all looked at each other and Shayna asked, " Are you scared of the men?" The girl shook her head , yes, slowly. Shayna looked at everyone and suggested the men get something to eat. My father, being alpha, said," This is my office and I am alpha. Why on earth would I let you have me leave?" The girl started to shake. I then glared at my father and he reluctantly left his office with my brothers,Drew and his Beta and Gamma. After the men left, it was just Shayna, this girl and I in the office. I sat at my father's desk and Shayna sat in one of the chairs across from me. The girl still stood in her spot. Shayna said, "Come sit down, we have a lot of questions." She moved slowly, like she was scared to be near us. She finally sat down, but never once did she look up. I asked her, "What is your name?" She sighed but very lowly said,"My name is Tina." If Shayna and I did not have werewolf hearing we would not have heard her. I looked at Shayna and nodded my head. Shayna then stated," Hi, Tina, my name is Shayna and this is Alli."There was a knock on the door and Shayna got up to answer it. There was an Omega male that brought in food for us. We said thank you and went to sit at the table. I asked Tina when the last time she ate. She shrugged her shoulders. I looked at Shayna and she was shocked. I said, "Please come sit with us and eat something." That is when she turned in her chair, looked at us and her jaw was wide open. It was like no one ever treated her with decency. We waited a few minutes and it looked like Tina was thinking about what she was gonna do, but she finally came and sat at the table. As we were eating, Tina started to talk a lot more. Once she gets started, she doesn't stop. She was telling us everything. There was another knock on the door, and I said, "Come in." It was Serena, the head nurse. She asked if she could take Tina to the pack hospital to give her a check-up. She got up, with confidence, and left with Serena.

Shayna and I sat in silence for what seemed like forever. And then the door burst open. We jumped, but it was only dad and the boys. They saw the food and looked at us. Dad asked," Where is the girl?" I stood up and stated, " Her name is Tina and she is with Serena getting a check-up. She told us everything. I'm horrified at what she has been through and before you ask,no, I will not say a word. It is not my place, nor is it Shayna's. Dad asks," Did she say what pack she is from?" I couldn't say it so Shayna spoke instead. "She said she is from the Dark Moon pack." It became so quiet in the office that you could hear a pin drop.
