Day three, he brings nothing.
She notices this the way she notices all things he does and does not do; not as a grade, not as a test passed, but as information filed in the ongoing ledger of what she is observing. He could have brought something. Flowers are the obvious choice and she has spent enough time in the world to know that obvious choices are made when a person is performing rather than being present, and obvious choices require a recipient to perform receiving them, which would have required her to perform something in return. He arrives empty-handed and she notes the correctness of it without awarding it.
The visits are fifteen minutes. She has not extended them. He does not ask for extension.
