~Selene's POV~ The elder circle sits at the edge of the settlement, a wide ring of standing stones worn smooth by centuries of weather and reverence, and Selene reaches it just as the first faint grey of pre-dawn begins to soften the black at the edges of the sky, Dax falling back at the outer boundary without being asked, some instinct in him recognizing immediately that whatever happens past this point is not his to enter. She stands at the threshold for a long moment, the vibration she felt through the south house walls now arriving as something closer to sound out here, distant and irregular, the unmistakable noise of a battle she cannot see but can feel pressing against the edges of her awareness from somewhere north along the gate line.
