~Selene's POV~
Petra arrives at the apartment a little after seven, a bottle of wine in one hand and a bag of takeout in the other, and announces, before she has even fully come through the door, that she has had an unreasonably long day and intends to do nothing more demanding tonight than sit on the floor and eat noodles directly from the container.
Selene lets her in and does not argue with any of it. The evening is warm enough that the windows are open, the late light still gold across the kitchen table, the twins awake and occupying the living room rug with the particular chaos of two children who have decided, independently, that the floor is the only acceptable place to be.
