~Selene's POV~ The morning arrives quietly, the south house unfamiliar enough still that Selene wakes twice before sunrise convinced for a disoriented half second that she is somewhere else entirely, before the shape of the unfamiliar ceiling resolves itself and she remembers exactly where she is and why. She gets up before the twins do, the way she has trained herself to do for almost a year now, using the quiet half hour before Lior's first demanding cry of the day to make coffee and stand at the unfamiliar kitchen window, looking out at a stretch of young trees that will, she assumes, eventually come to feel as ordinary to her as the view from her Silvermere kitchen once did.
