Right after Adonis answered my question, my body went stiff. That strange sensation returned, and I couldn’t feel my legs. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up instantly.
I tried to open my mouth. “Is there something you want to say to me?” My gaze fell to the floor, unwilling to meet his eyes.
“Swimming sounds like fun. You came here to swim, right? Let’s get in the water.”
I changed my focus to the pool. Seeing Hayden emerge from the water and standing at the edge gave me a sense of calm. At least I can think that he must have noticed Adonis's presence by now.
