~Emily
I gasped with fright and shock as powerful hands wrapped around my waist and pulled me off the road, securing me tightly in their hold while the speeding car that would have put an end to my misery zoomed past us.
I turned to him, and even with the rain seeping into my eyes, my gaze was locked on his, unblinking.
His handsome yet stern face, like a beacon to my soul. A thick line to grab onto in my moment of distress.
"You'll hurt yourself, Emily." His deep voice came, shutting off all the terrible thoughts of the day that swarmed my mind.
The sky was gloomy, but as I stared into those fiery gray eyes, all I could see was a beacon of hope, and I didn't care at that moment that it could burn me.
But, how did he know my name?
I immediately tried to get myself free from his hold, but his grip was very firm around my waist.
"Let me go!" I yelled.
"Alright."
He slowly let me go, a look of uncertainty flashing in his gray orbs. He must have thought I was going to go back to the middle of the road to get killed.
"Who are you?' I asked.
He only smirked at me and turned around, "I'll see you soon Emily,"
The next day in school was very traumatic for me. Just walking past the school gate caused my legs and hands to shake so much.
Tucking my hands into my jeans pockets, I strolled into the school, my head faced down to the ground.
As the bell went off to signal the start of the first class for the day, I walked to my locker to see someone had scribbled "F*CK H*O" on it, alongside a drawing of pig's tail.
Biting on my lips to curb the angry scream that wanted to erupt, I opened the locker and was pulling out my notes for the day, when something rough hit the back of my hair.
"I thought you'd have drowned yourself by now, loser," Someone stated behind me and laughed loudly as he walked past me.
Sighing softly, I willed myself not to cry as I sluggishly walked to my class, hiding my face with my hair.
Loud jeers echoed down the hall as I walked past each chair, til I got to the last and took a seat near the window.
"Alright students, today we will be introducing a new student who will be joining you all today." The teacher came in and announced, causing the class to cheer in excitement.
Why was everyone always thrilled when there was the mention of a new student joining us?
"Is she hot?" One student asked crudely, causing the teacher to sigh,
"He and his brother will be joining us shortly although his brother isn't meant for this class but they insisted on sticking together," The teacher explained instead.
"Excuse me," The teacher said, then walked out of class.
"Hey pig face." Selena called as soon as he left, her voice mocking.
"Why are you hiding behind your hair? You should let us see your fat face more often. Some of us are craving for a nightmare, something to keep us up at night." She griped and I heard at least half the class laugh.
"Alright students, silence."
The teacher was back.
And shockingly, there were no more jeers, or side talks. The whole class was silent, with slight gasps escaping some students.
Curious at the change in atmosphere, I turned to see what it was all about, and my eyes landed on his—on both their faces.
Blinking several times, I could only stare in shock.
"Everyone say hello to Alex and Adrian Rayner." The teacher announced and I could understand why everyone had gone so silent.
They were both tall, with one a bit taller than the other. The one who had saved me the night before.
They had very striking features. The one who saved me yesterday had a more rugged feature, ink black hair, which was sleekly styled, as opposed to the other one, who had slightly softer features, a messy mop of brown hair, and a hint of mischief twitching his lips. I could tell he was the younger of the two.
"You can both get settled down." The teacher said, "But Adrian, I'm afraid you'll only stay here for today and it's because this is your first day,"
The younger one scoffed and I realised he must be Adrian while the tougher looking one was Alex.
"Well, go on and take your seats,"
My eyes grew wide, as I watched them walk towards me, Alex’s eyes never leaving my face.
My breath froze and my body steeled as they took the empty seats next to me.
I immediately turned back to the window to distract myself.
"Hello Emily." a deep playful voice called, and I turned slightly to see a playful smirk playing on Adrian's lips.
That was when it came to my mind to ask,
"Do I know you?"
He scoffed.
"You don't. But we know all about you,"
This time, it was the alpha looking brother who spoke up.
Something about him—them, made my heart race like crazy.
But what bothered me the most was how much did they really know about me?
