"I'm recording this confession." Atlas pulled out his phone, placing it on the table between them. "Say it again for posterity." Aaron swallowed hard, the weight of five years of deception crushing down on him. His voice cracked as he spoke into the device. "I, Aaron Finnegan, killed my father, Marius Finnegan. I poisoned him with the intention of making him too ill to finalize his new will. I miscalculated the dose, and he died." His eyes flickered to Atlas. "Then I attempted to murder my half-brother, Atlas Prime, by ordering his beating and abandonment." The confession hung in the air, heavy and irrevocable.
