Chapter 2

I reach my room, the first room to the left, the only door that was painted white and had stickers of practically everything on it. My father lets us choose how we wanted to decorate the doors to our bedroom because he was afraid that one of us pups would accidentally walk into the wrong room and see something that we weren’t supposed to. And me being the little girl that I was just wanted stickers, now I kinda regret it because it seems so childish but it has so many memories that are just stuck to it. I started to take out my clothes from my dresser and closet and piled everything on top of my bed. Tossing the absolute “no way am I wearing that to meet the Gifted Warriors”, on the floor and would put them away later. When I got half way through the pile, majority of the clothes were on the floor. “At this rate you won’t have any clothes to wear and you’ll have to walk around naked with a bunch of unmated males.” I jumped to hear a voice commenting my sorting. “How do you know what I am doing?” I turned around to see Kai watching me with a smile on his face. “Have you forgotten? I am Kai, the best friend and Beta to the Alpha daughter. I know her more than her herself.” Kai grinned knowing that he was right, he was the only one who knew me more than myself. “Shut up. How did you even know that I was even going to be around males?” “When you get mad you don’t realize that your dominance radiates throughout the whole house and you scream at the top of your lungs saying that you didn’t want to leave.” He bent over and picked up something from outside of my room. “Plus your dad asked me to bring you this.” He walked over to my bed and placed a suitcase on my bed next to the mountain of clothes. “You know that if you find your mate among one of those males, they’re not going to care what you wear, they’re only going to care what you look like underneath.” I smacked him with a shirt to show him that he shouldn’t say that. “Kai, I want to make an impression that they shouldn’t waste my time and that if one of them is my mate he should just claim me right then and there.” “You need to get used to people waiting for your time because everyone wants to be around you. Plus if one of them is your mate, then nothing is going to stop him from taking all of your time.” “And how would you know? It’s not like you have a mate of anything.” “No but that’s what I would do if I did. Make sure that I was the one taking up her time instead of someone else.” “I hate the fact that you’re always right even when you have no clue.” “What can I say, it’s a gift.” “Whatever. I just don’t understand why my dad, out of all people, decided that I should be the first one to be there. Why can’t some other chick be by herself with five unmated males and not me or at least someone could go with me so I’m not by myself.” “Maybe it’s because your dad knows that you can take care of yourself when you are around males. Why do you think you outrank me?” Kai sat on my bed watching me fuss over this situation. “Because I’m just better than you and I know the difference between when a girl is asking a question or when she is flirting.” “Excuse me but I know the difference. I just don’t want to acknowledge the fact that she is not my mate.” "Uh-huh, I'm sure wants you get a mate she'll just love that you thought that way." We bickered back and forth about me leaving the pack and no matter how much my brain was telling me to stay my wolf was telling me the complete opposite. Maybe I will find my mate and the darkness will be not the biggest problem anymore. I just only hope that things stay intact when I come back and I do plan on coming back. Mate or not no one can keep me from what is mine to protect. And even if they think otherwise they might be digging their own graves.
