Trust Me

Alex It's been a week. A freaking week. And by this time you would think I know the name that goes with the girl invading of most of my thoughts but I don't!  She's very quiet in class and doesn't sit in the cafeteria so I can't even ask the guys about her at lunch. She also isn't the only blue eyed, girl with brown hair at this school, so giving them her description wouldn't do much.  What I did notice so far is that she has three other friends that dress cool yet edgy. They all see to have a similar style.  I can't even ask for her name because I'm too freaking shy to do so. That's also the another reason I haven't asked Jake or the guys about her either. I don't wanna be teased over a girl I don't even know.  Other than my obvious frustration with mystery girl, school isn't so bad. So far classes are easy but then again school just started so I probably shouldn't jinx it.  Right now it's after school and I'm sitting on a bench nearby the football field. I didn't feel like going home just yet. The weather was breezy so I decided to stay a bit and read a few chapters of my new novel, then head home. The football field is right next to the parking lot, and one would think it'd be empty other than my car. But it wasn't. In my line of vision was a shiny black motorcycle.  'Well that definitely got my attention' I scanned my surroundings but didn't find who I was looking for. 'If that's her bike then where could she be? What is she doing still at school?' I pondered.  I decided to go home since I wouldn't be able to read if I was trying to find mystery girl . I glance at the mini forest right by the school and see a girl.  She's punching and kicking one of the trees repeatedly, wearing only a sports bra and work out shorts, that are hanging lowly off her hips. Her hair is tied up in a pony tail but her hair is still considered quite long like that. On her fists she has the wrapping that typically fighters put on to practice. 'What is she doing? She's gonna hurt herself. Wait.. Is that mystery girl ?'   I don't know where this burst of courage came from but I started taking large strides towards her, leaving my book bag on the bench, knowing that I will retrieve it later.  Once I reach her, I don't exactly know how to get her attention.  Awkwardly, I clear my throat to get her to look my way. Startled, she stops abusing the tree in front of her, throws a short glance my way, and then continues as if I didn't just interrupt her "punching session." Again, I find myself trying to grab her attention. "Uh um, hi" I mumble. Once more, she ignores my presence. Feeling rejected, I decide to leave her be since she's probably annoyed by now. Before I walk away I notice something on her hip bone. A tattoo. It was an odd looking symbol but it seemed to perfectly fit on her body.  After what has felt like the twentieth time this past week, I get out of the love-struck trance she always seems to put me in and I walk away to my car, and I head home. Once I'm home I climb upstairs to my bedroom and knock out till morning, completely forgetting about my book bag I left at school, and the homework I had to finish. The Next Day aka Tuesday It's morning and I realize I can't find my book bag. After searching for 20 minutes I figured out that I left it on the football field benches.  "Damn it! I also forgot to do my homework I'm so freaking screwed!!" I groaned. I headed to school still pissed at myself for being so careless. Thankfully I woke up early if not I wouldn't have time to search for my belongings before class starts. I arrive at the football field and I notice that my book bag is no where in sight. Checking everywhere I head to the lost in found and still nothing. Angrily I head to first period with nothing but a pencil that I had in my pocket. Entering the classroom, I see my book bag sitting where my seat is next to mystery girl. Not even second guessing how it got there, I rummage through it trying to find the assignment I had to do for this class.  'Hopefully I can finish it before class starts considering its 10 minutes till the bell rings.' I thought. As I find the assignment I notice that it's already completed. I check through the rest of my assignment given to me yesterday and every single one is completed.  Relief washes over me but then I question,"Who did this?" I look at mystery girl, who is seated to my right, and ask if she'd seen anyone walk in here and put my book bag on my chair. Her response is simply putting her head down on the desk as if she's gonna take a nap.  I figured I've bothered her enough since yesterday but I can't help but feel a tinge of sadness when she ignores me. I don't even know her yet I'm seeking her attention. I can't stop this feeling though. I just wanna get to know her, but I have no idea what pulls me to her. Could it be her incredibly gorgeous appearance? Or maybe her mysterious aura?  I don't know. What I do know is that I hope she gives me a chance to at least talk to her. God knows I have been dying to hear her voice. A few days later A few days have past and every day after school I see mystery girl "practicing" on a tree. I have tried making small talk more than once but it she won't  budge! Anyways, today is Thursday (the day before football tryouts) and the day has already started off bad. It was pouring bad before I even got out of my car this morning. By third period it was thundering, lightning, and pouring rain like no tomorrow. Third period is also English class which is the only other class I have her in. The moment it started thundering I saw mystery girl stiffen and flinch every single time lightning flashed or thunder erupted. Feeling slightly protective of her I asked if she was okay. But of course like always she ignored me, keeping her blank expression on that beautiful face of hers.  After a few minutes I noticed she began shivering so without thinking, I took off my comfortable hoodie and placed it around her shoulders. Startled by my gesture, she looked up at me. Vulnerability flashing her eyes for barely a second. She hesitantly slipped on my oversized hoodie, also curling her knees into her chest. Happy with the slight progress I just made, a smile came across my face. But it didn't last long considering the lights went out due to the aggressive storm.  The first thing that came to mind was to check on mystery girl. She looked a bit frightened but was trying to conceal it.  The "bimbos" Jake told me about were over exaggeratively screaming because of the darkness that surrounded the room. Mentally rolling my eyes, I look forward to see the teacher, Mr. Jackson, trying to calm everyone down. He calmly stated that we cannot proceed with class due to the storm but we also aren't allowed to leave because it may be dangerous to drive our cars  in such harsh weather. Just as he finished speaking, a tree, next to the large windows of the classroom, banged against it so roughly the glass broke. Mr. Jackson then hurriedly escorted us out into the hallway.  Glancing to my right I see that mystery girl seems to afraid to move. I grab her hands and she flinches away from me. Again, I slowly approach her, kindly telling her she can trust me. "Hey it's okay I'm not going to hurt you, but the storm is getting pretty bad so we should probably head out. You can trust me okay? I'm not gonna let you get hurt just come with me. Please?" I ask gently. Carefully she put her hand in mine and I guided her out of the classroom and into the hallway hand in hand. A fuzzy feeling settled in my gut due to the closeness I have with her right now, but I shake that thought out of my head, only wanting to focus on making sure she's okay. An announcement came over the speakers, addressing the teachers to move their classes into the gym.  As our class begins following Mr. Jackson, I slowly and gently wrap my arm around mystery girl to give her comfort and warmth and ultimately to stop her shivering. Surprisingly, she allows me to do so and continues walking to the gym with me closely by her side. Once we reach the gym, we are all seated on the bleachers. Mystery girl still safely tucked under my arm, as we lean against the wall. The most ear-piercing thunder boomed throughout the school, causing mystery girl to jump into my lap and hide her head in my chest. Surprised, I tighten my hold on her and stroke her long brown hair soothingly. 'What suddenly made her so comfortable to be around me' I wondered. Two Hours Later The ruthless storm doesn't stop but eventually the blue-eyed beauty somehow falls into a peaceful slumber, cuddled up on my lap as I continuously play with her soft luscious hair. Slowly I begin to drift off, content with holding a certain girl in my arms.
