Word traveled quickly from Paris to Krakow that the King of Poland was now the King of France. I had hoped that Anjou would come quickly in triumph, and we could once again be together as we had before he left for Poland. Alas, politics meant that things were much more complicated than that.
The Poles had no desire to allow their newly elected monarch to leave for his new kingdom.
