25 Four days after my daughter's arrival, I started to regain my strength. Catherine was correct; I did think that I would surely die from the birth, but I had survived despite my fears. I was sore, but I felt strong. As soon as I could, I wrote a letter to the King, giving him the news of my daughter. I told him of her beauty, how perfect she was and how she cooed when awake. Most of the time, she simply laid in my arms, content to doze off and make no noise whatsoever. I talked about how he would love her as I did and that I could not wait until he beheld her for himself.
