Chapter Nine
Shock
“Then lead me to her,” I told him, trying to mask the shock in my tone. Was it possible that she was alive after so many years? Everyone in Draconia told me to forget about her, that she was dead.
He mumbled something incoherent under his breath, then he turned around and started walking toward the stairs. Damn it. I wasn’t expecting this. I didn’t know what I was supposed to do now, but I followed him. I still had to get Aly out of here.
However, this sudden news changed my direction. I needed to know if that was really her. f**k.
We walked through the long corridors, passing several doors and other hearing rooms. Baxley was interrogating her, or maybe he was already done, so Aly went back to her cell. I hoped she was going to be all right a little while longer.
