Chapter Twelve The reality I was shaking with cold as dull pain spread down my spine. The beast circulated around the city, probably looking for a safe place to land. After some time, the dragon touched down on one of the tallest buildings. There was a fire burning in the distance. I was worried, wondering what or who caused it. Once he settled, I helped Aly to climb down. “Aly, are you all right?” I asked her, seeing that she was trembling, probably from the chill in the air. It was freezing right now. “I’m fine, Francesca. I just wasn’t expecting such a cold ride, although I had fun,” she admitted, but I wasn’t convinced she enjoyed it as much as I did. The dragon wished us good luck, then spread his enormous wings. Aly’s eyes widened, and we backed away in order to give him space. F
