Chapter 3

978 Words
Violet’s POV Ryan continued to protect me and my family from attack. Trying to prevent us from dying at the hands of the half crazed lunatic that was stalking both of our families, through a series of trying to figure out what was going on, they had uncovered that it was likely..... ALEX!!! This is so absurd. It made the most sense for it to be Alex though. He had always had somewhat of a thing for me, and despite my father not liking him and trying to kill him, Ryan and I had come to the conclusion that he was the most probable suspect. Somehow attacking my father and Ryan’s family could be an indicator that he was retaliating for not being able to hang out with me anymore, Not to even call her his. Maybe that had been one of his huge goals, to have me belong to him. Time passing didn’t make anything any better, the closer Ryan got to closing in on Alex and solving the situation, the worse the situation would become. It got so bad, with all the fighting and deaths that my father started looking into relocating in order to get away from the danger. It seemed increasingly likely that one day they would wake up dead, or kidn*pped. Ryan helped me and my dad to find a place to go, a nice little house where we could hide away from the world. A safe house of sorts. Nobody would know that we were there and Ryan would be within a reasonable distance so we could spend time together. The night before we left, someone sprayed blood all over the front of the luxurious house I had grown up in. At first we thought it was red paint, but Ryan did a chemical analysis test on it and determined that it wasn’t paint. It had DNA so it had to be blood. So apparently, when Alex kidn*pped people he somehow obtained their blood. At least, that is where they assumed it came from. We all hurriedly left the premises, happy to already have another place to go. Ryan helped us pack everything up, and I cried as I watched him walk away. He couldn’t go with us in the car to the new place in case someone was following us, they had to move around willy nilly and not go directly to any one place. If someone was following us, they needed to put them off the trail as much as possible. When we finally did arrive at the new house, I wanted to see Ryan. I already missed him so much, he was within driving distance and would be there to see us later, but I missed seeing him during the daytime. I could feel a hot tear tracking down her cheek, if only Alex would stop trying to ruin my life. Stop trying to take away everything I had wanted! I had waited five long years for Ryan, and now I was going to lose everything because of one idiotic man who thought if he pressured my father enough, maybe Ryan would be thrown out to the wolves like he had been. A hot tear tracked down my face, dripping down on my pants. If he truly cared about me, how could he do this to me? How could he threaten the only family I had?. I didn’t have anything but Ryan and my dad, and he was threatening both of them. I thought that we were just friends, that he cared about me. Someone that cared about me, wouldn’t go out of his way to harm me like this right? To try to wreck, ruin everything I held most dear in life. It wasn’t right. It wasn’t fair. The whole thing was so unfair. I sobbed, heartbroken, missing the arms that would hold me close, kiss my forehead, and comfort me. Was it possible to overcome something so pressing?. Something that felt like it was ripping my heart into shreds?. Ryan would be by to see me soon, maybe that would help me. We hadn’t told my dad that Ryan was a Salvador yet, once we did…. s**t was going to hit the fan. I was hoping he would come to like Ryan personally as a person, before that happened but didn’t look like that was going to pan out quite how I hoped. My dad wasn’t too fond of Ryan and I thought he suspected that Ryan was part New Yorker. How in the world had the Salvador’s managed to have New York in their blood, and still hate the New Yorkers was a mystery I had yet to solve. I heard a sound out of the new bedroom window. Wait… what was that?. There shouldn’t be anything out there. Ah, it was probably just a bird and some animals fluttering around in the grass. I relaxed, taking a deep breath. Everyone wasn’t out to kill me, I needed to remember that. Apparently, the only person that wanted to kill me was the one person I thought I’d never have to worry about, just my luck, on top of everything else too. There it was… that sound again. Except this time, it sounded closer. It sounded almost like the door was opening? My father shouldn’t be going anywhere. I stood to my feet, panic racing through my heart. Was someone around that wasn’t supposed to be?. Surely, Alex hadn’t found us. We had gone through so much hard work to make sure there was no way that he would be able to track us to our safe house. I felt panic gripping at my heart, cold fear splicing through me. "No, this couldn’t be happening!." I said to myself. It couldn’t be Alex, it just couldn’t. It would have to be something else. Could it be him?.
