CHAPTER 22

RAYDIA’S POV UNBELIEVABLE!!! I have been trudging around the outskirts of this forest for three days now and I haven’t found any game, it’s probably that dwarf’s fault, I heard she has been warning people to stay away from our forest ever since Gaizen lured her son here, what was his name again? Ladwig? Doesn’t matter, she’s a hindrance, should I just kill her? She’s been nothing but a nuisa…….. My thoughts were cut off by an out of place sight, at the foot of the barrier, A moon elf, now why is there a moon elf this far East? In this forest? And how is she able to withstand the mana pressure being this close to the tree? She looked strong, judging from how was handling her Kondra, judging from the color of her core she was a mage, and a competent one at that, watching how she surveyed the ground like clockwork anyone can see that she was well trained, she was perfect, her core was a little murky, but that could be fixed I pull my hair back, revealing my collar bone and smoothed out my dress, the sooner I entrance her, the quicker I can get started “Magibeast tend to avoid these parts, the mana in the air is often times too much for them” I say while inching closer to her, I put on a frail dainty persona, my most effective tactic “Actually most people also find it difficult to be here, Elves, Lycans, Nosefers, lots of people, and yet here you are, right as rain, why is that?” she looks at me skeptically, her eyes giving nothing away, then turns away to survey the area once more “I don’t know, I travelled here from far North” she jumps off her Kondra, and approaches me “Oh did you now?” she should be groveling at my feet by now “Yes, my people are in trouble, I don’t know what is causing it, the Faye have lived a long life, their knowledge paralleled only by their beauty, so I was hoping one of you might know what is causing all of this” she was trying to flatter me, FLATTER ME?!! She should be on her knees!!, something wasn’t right I sped closer to get a better look at her face, “Do you adore me?” I asked, my sudden movement caused her to go on Guard jumping back, she squats down, both her and her Kondra assuming hostile stances “I guess not I wonder why” this isn’t an uncommon occurrence, morbeins with strong affinity to magic have shown an immunity to our hypnotics, but I needed to keep her here “You have a question do you not? I have lived for two centuries so I might be of help to you” She was still wary of me, but she rose from her crouched position anyway “Thank you I accept your kind offer” “Oh goodie!!!” I skipped to her side and looped my arms around her, I hated having to put on this sickening display, but I had to save her “You are going to love the elder, he knows everything” “”I look forward to learning from yo…..” we are stopped by her Kondra, it had a stronger sense of danger than she did and wanted to protect it’s master, admirable, but right now it was annoying, Should I kill it? “Peeksik” move she commands it to step aside and it did, reluctantly but still, we walk into the barrier and the Elf gets a little dizzy her movement becoming clumsy, thankfully for her, I grabbed her hand, the reason being I didn’t want her to escape and partially because I knew the sudden onslaught of mana would be too much for her, so I held her to keep her steady and secretly sent some of my mana into her body to stabilize her “Are you alright?” I ask She runs her hand over her face “Yes, I’m fine” “Magnificent” with or without my magic, the fact that she could catch herself this quickly made her even more perfect “My name is Raydia” I say, trying to close the distance between us “Alright” was her only answer, not wanting to tell me her name, rude, but it’s fine, I’ll find out soon enough, I start to ramble on about nonsensical things so she would think I was an airhead and find me non-threatening, till we reach the door leading to the entrance way, and she was In awe “Beautiful isn’t it, let’s go inside” I tease her, while effortlessly pushing the door open “By Sophia……” Spoken like a true Sylphorren citizen, I understand her splendor, it’s not every day you see a mansion inside a tree, one of my greatest works really “Beautiful isn’t it?” I ask her again while we were inside “I’ve definitely never seen anything like it” “Raydia, eji fie nitg da?” Raydia, who is that? Grundal, came down the stairs “bihg di bydo rin, gehcm hfe kjusj na?” I found her outside the boarder, isn’t she adorable, I answered “On dug huak kjuy gahl ni respident tjil bah ha daa?” On whose authority did you bring a moon elf into our boarders? He never agreed with my methods “agr jyef nah din gu hail gahru respident” Are you in any position to talk about authority? He flinched, he had no right to say anything when all he did was stand aside and watched as everything happened, such a little hypocrite “nhigh rafsha ben dilks sutra” how is she able to withstand the mana flux “Nors dart kiin grutaska” that’s what I’d like to know My face turned cold unknowingly, “Excuse me” the little Elf interjected, which I was grateful for, I nearly slapped his head off “forgive me for showing up so abruptly, I understand how my unannounced visit can prove to be a hindrance to you, I wouldn’t do so if it wasn’t dire, Forgive me” refusing to back down she held her head high “Glorious” I beamed, the more she talked the more I wanted to keep her, it’s truly a pity, she was just too perfect Grundal sighed in defeat before introducing himself “My Name is Grundal, you say you presence is tied to a sense of urgency, is it not? Then I suppose you’d wish to speak to all of us, follow me” I dragged her up the stairs, the little Elf took this as her opportunity to look around, till we finally reached the communion area “We are here” Grundal said then pushed the door open revealing the rest of the coven, lazy bastard who did nothing except eat, sleep, drink, smoke and sleaze themselves into a coma, I was the only person trying to save her, I was the only person who LOVED her “Joacfj kueamo” hello everyone!!! I spoke and all heads turned to us “Bnigh dught nakters boungad sultra bargh turmonstan, nielkert bust a trasberan” I found someone very special, she says she has a few questions, I hope you treat her nicely Was what I said but they all knew the underlying meaning “The floor is yours” I nudged her “Greetings……” she started then went on the tell them about what she was looking for, then passed around a picture, when It got to me I flinched, but covered it quickly, of all things why did it have to be this, So another one of them came here trying to solve this, guilt pricked at me like an ice cold dagger, but I couldn’t afford to be sentimental, we all had our own demons to fight “Arrogant of you to come to us seeking for our help, without even properly introducing yourself” Grundal spoke, he was trying to scare her off, that clever bastard “Forgive me, but I have reasons that prevent me from doing so, also the last thing I would ever want is to offend the people I came to for help” Thankfully she was stubborn, He scoffs at her “Oh my, I don’t think I’ve ever seen this symbol before does anyone else know anything about the symbol” I cut into their conversation, I can’t have them be together any longer, I direct the question to the crowd and a chorus of NOs fill the room until “How are you still standing?” “What?” her heckles were raised, That FOOL, as if she wasn’t suspicious enough “oh my, someone seems to have had a little too much Rubben root” I try to direct her attention away from that blundering i***t “None of us here know about the symbol, what of Gaizen? I don’t see the leader anywhere?” “Gaizen went out a while ago with 4 others, we don’t know when they will be back, but it probably won’t be long, 3 weeks at best” Answered one of the sober Faye “Thank you, I shall return In 3 weeks” I can’t let her leave “WHY?!!!” I stop her “I’d hate to intrude” “Nonsense, we would absolutely love to host you, Gaizen might be back sooner that any of us expect, 3 weeks is just the maximum time he has ever spent away from the coven, How about this, stay here and you can have full access to the library..” “Raydia” Grundal interrupted but I shot him a warning look, his next outburst could cost him his life, he bowed his head, clever, expected of the man who stood by me the longest, I was determined to keep her here, no matter what, also her frequenting the library would only serve my interest Her eyes bulged at my offer, probably because it sounded too good to be true “You get full access to the library, who knows you might find what you’re looking for” I continue to butter her up till she finally yielded “if it won’t be of trouble to you” I got her “No trouble at all” I loop my arms around her again dragging her, on the way out I sent a telepathic message to the Faye in the room Kill him They all knew who I was talking about, I drag her all over the place from her room, to the kitchen to the library, making sure to greatly emphasize the ‘history of magic’ section, I slipped a little by pointing out the book of a former Sylphorren Queen, who supposedly died before I was born, but she didn’t seem to catch on, to further gain her trust, I knew I had to pull out all the stops, so I took her to that place “This is my favorite part of the entire tree” I brought her out onto the thick branch and we bask in the Faux sunrise “its beautiful” she said, breathlessly “Isn’t it? And can you feel that energy?” I genuinely, taking in a deep breath “The mana here Is crisp and warm” she continues to amaze me, she could even feel that the mana here was the calmest in the entire tree, she said something incredible without even realizing it, the look on her face made me chuckle “I want to thank you again, for bringing me here, I actually feel like I have a chance” Child please don’t thank me “Oh, it’s my pleasure” Soon the fatigue sets in, I’m surprised she didn’t collapse sooner with the sudden influx of mana her body had to endure, she asked me for a room on the dimmer side of the tree, the light was bugging her, exactly what I was hoping for, so I gave her a Luna sphere I prepared, I added a spell to make the people under it fall into a deeper slumber than normal, when I was certain, the spell had taken effect, I snuck into her room “Now let’s find out who you are, little elf” I whispered and took a seat at the edge of the bed, I brush the hair out of her face, she was beautiful, pale blue skin, not as bright as the sky but not as dark as the ocean, a small round face, a button nose, flush pink cheeks, probably from the fatigue, small freckles dance all over her skin, a little on her cheeks, some dusted on her shoulders which could be seen from above the blanket, cute little lips, I take her face in my hand and run my thumb over pursed lips, her stirs in her sleep causing me freeze thinking the spell was too weak, but she soon settles and continues her slumber I breath a sigh of relief then continue familiarizing myself with her features, soft and silky smooth silvery grey hair, combing my fingers through her hair they pass with ease, with how far she had travelled, you’d expect her to be in a more disheveled state, clearly this was someone who cared about her appearance, the more I look, the more I couldn’t dispute the fact, that she looked exactly like her Beautiful in every way “Please don’t resent me” I whisper then place a small kiss on her forehead, placing both hands on the side of her head, I connected with her subconscious and began sifting through her memories, Faye had unique mental abilities which gave us the power to speak telepathically and to look inside people’s head when we touch them “Queen Eztli Morgo Sophia, huh? Now this is interesting”
