Three days later Ethan was rubbing down his mare in the stable when warm hands encircled his waist and a soft voice murmured his name. Turning in Jesse’s embrace, Ethan dropped the brush he held and cradled Jesse’s chin in both hands as he kissed him passionately. “I’ve missed you,” he whispered into Jesse’s mouth as the outlaw’s hands eased up beneath his shirt. “Ethan,” Jesse purred, pulling him close. Ethan bumped into his horse, who shied from the two men. Pushing away from the outlaw, Ethan studied Jesse with sad eyes and fought back tears that choked the words in his throat. “You have to leave. Now. You can’t be here. The whole town is looking for you guys. The stable boy says his brother’s gunning for you. If he sees you here—” “I was careful.” Jesse kissed Ethan’s protests
