"Help! Help!”
“You little..." The captain jerked her forward and slung her over his shoulder. But a tousled head had appeared in the passageway.
"Did you call me, Captain?"
"No, I didn't. Go back to your cabin, please," the captain replied.
"Help me!" Layla said to the man. "don't let him put me ashore!" she yelled out again. She tried to push herself off the captain's shoulder, but was held in too strong a grip.
"Help me, I'm in terrible trouble," she repeated to the man again.
"And you will be in worse trouble if you don't get back to your cabin," the captain threatened, pushing past the man.
He carried Layla up on deck. She beat at his back with her fist and struggled wildly.
"You can't do this! You've got to protect me! I don't have anyone else to go to for help," she pleaded.
