Nora teased Kara, "Where did you go last night? Did you go out to meet Kyle?"
Kara smiled back, but her smile was tinged with frustration. Nora immediately noticed the mixed emotions and asked, "What's wrong? Why does your face look like that? Did the meeting with Kyle not go well?"
Kara hesitated before responding, "It went well, but something happened."
Nora's curiosity was piqued. "What happened?"
Kara sighed, "It's nothing. Don't bother yourself."
Nora's expression turned gentle. "We're friends, Kara
. You can tell me anything. I've told you before, when we're together, feel free to call me by my name. There's no need for formalities."
Kara's eyes met Nora's, and she saw the genuine concern there. "It's true that last night didn't go as planned," she admitted.
