Chapter 5: Charming Techniques

1012 Words
“There are many ways to obtain information.” Qiu Xueyi's eyes sparkled with determination, and Gu Feibai's deliberately stern expression did nothing to intimidate her. Shen Mian couldn't help but admire her confidence. “You have a purpose for being here.” It wasn't a question, but a statement. Leaning back in his chair, Gu Feibai's gaze shifted to a more scrutinizing stance. “What do you want?” “I want you.” The air suddenly thickened, and Shen Mian looked at Qiu Xueyi in shock. Even the woman at Gu Feibai's home wouldn't dare to speak so boldly; how could she— Qiu Xueyi took a moment to admire Gu Feibai’s handsome features. “Mr. Gu, you’re charming and come from a wealthy family, not to mention you’re at the helm of the Gu Corporation. Who wouldn’t want a man like you?” “Oh? Do you know what you’re saying?” Gu Feibai had encountered countless women trying to climb into his bed, but he had never met anyone who would openly lay their desires on the table during their first meeting. “Of course.” Qiu Xueyi's eyes sparkled with mischief as she locked her gaze onto Gu Feibai, her teasing smile evident. Gu Feibai returned her stare, his indifferent gaze reflecting her image. The intensity of their eye contact made Qiu Xueyi feel increasingly flustered, prompting her to be the first to look away. “How about this? I’m willing to trade the collaboration with the Marion couple for the assistant position by your side. It’s a win-win deal for you, Mr. Gu.” She was confident that Gu Feibai wouldn’t let such an opportunity slip away. After all, he was a businessman who valued profit, and the bait she offered was too tempting to resist. As she had anticipated, Gu Feibai pondered for a moment before turning to Shen Mian. “Take her to the HR department to register.” Shen Mian was momentarily stunned before realizing that Gu Feibai had agreed to Qiu Xueyi’s request! If this reached Miss Qiu, it would surely stir up a storm. Not daring to think too much about it, Shen Mian quickly led Qiu Xueyi to the HR department. It was only when they registered her name that Shen Mian learned Qiu Xueyi’s full identity. “Sophie… could it be you are…?” The up-and-coming violin prodigy making waves in the international music scene—Sophie? Qiu Xueyi raised an eyebrow with confidence. “That’s me.” With her employee badge in hand, she turned to leave but paused halfway. “Excuse me, where’s my office?” … “On the right.” A few employees lowered their heads in fear as they placed the brand-new desk on Gu Feibai’s right side. Qiu Xueyi stood to the side, feeling disgusted. They all said Gu Feibai was indifferent to women, yet he placed his assistant right next to him. How hypocritical. Gu Feibai waved his hand for them to leave and bent down to handle his documents. Seeing that her presence was no longer required, Qiu Xueyi stifled her disdain and took a seat. The afternoon passed in peace. Just as Qiu Xueyi was about to clock out, she received a message from Qiu Xuehu. “Miss Sophie, could you come to Yunyuan No. 16 tonight?” Yunyuan No. 16 was one of Gu Feibai’s luxurious villas. “I recall we agreed to meet next Tuesday.” “We’re having a small recital at home today, and I’d like you to perform a piece. The pay will be three times your usual rate.” Three times? Her performances were worth their weight in gold; how could Qiu Xuehu offer three times the amount? A feast that wasn’t enjoyable, and besides, she hadn’t planned on revealing her identity just yet. Some games needed to be played slowly for maximum effect. “Sorry, I’m too tired today. Let’s reschedule.” Hanging up the phone, a faint smile graced Qiu Xueyi’s lips as she packed her things, feeling quite pleased with herself as she prepared to leave work. Unbeknownst to her, Gu Feibai had been watching her intently since she received the call. What was this little woman so happy about? Gu Feibai was filled with curiosity about her. She claimed she was here to seduce him, yet they had spent an entire afternoon together without a single move from her. She hadn’t even offered to make him coffee. What was her purpose here, exactly? “Assistant Su.” Gu Feibai approached Qiu Xueyi’s desk, looking down at her from a towering height. Qiu Xueyi felt like prey under the watchful eye of a hunter, making her uneasy. “What is it?” “Do you have time tonight?” Of course, she didn’t. Her precious son was waiting for her to come home. However, she had come for Gu Feibai, and it was only polite to ask. “What do you need, Mr. Gu?” “What you’ve been thinking about.” Gu Feibai tossed a key onto her desk. “Nine o’clock tonight, Room 1305 at Zedi.” Qiu Xueyi’s hands and feet turned cold in an instant. Gu Feibai was being so casual about this? He wanted to meet with his assistant tonight? And judging by his familiarity, he must have done this countless times before. Qiu Xueyi couldn’t help but feel nauseous, though she maintained a calm facade. “Mr. Gu, isn’t this a bit too fast?” “I’m fulfilling your wish. You think it’s too fast? Moreover, you won’t know until you experience it for yourself.” Enough! Qiu Xueyi mentally screamed. She certainly knew, from five years ago… She closed her eyes, suppressing her urges, and smiled. “Mr. Gu, you’ve misunderstood. I want you to willingly kneel at my feet, not to seek a fleeting moment of pleasure.” Gu Feibai leaned forward, his hands pressed on the desk, closing the distance between them. Qiu Xueyi found herself staring at his magnified, handsome face.
