I sat across his work table as he got busy with the files. His eyes focused, hands moving swiftly across the pages. I flipped the page of the book I was ‘reading’, watching his every movement, the way he nodded slightly before putting down his signature. He looks so hot when working. He was like a blockbuster movie, I couldn’t take my eyes off him. I stood up and walked to the shelf to pick another book. “So how’s the book you just read?” “Cool.” “Mind to tell me about it?” I turned to him and he had a smirk on. “No.” He stood and moved closer to me. I took a step backward, my back hitting the shelf softly. “Tell me about it.” “I said No.” my tone was firm. Our gaze locked together in a certain weird power. Then he chuckled, “You, Amelia, are the only human who don’t flinch when I talk.” “Why should I?” He placed his index finger on my cheek, sending down my throat and I could feel my n*****s harden. “And it makes me think of different ways I could break that resolve of yours.” I swallowed dryly, still holding on to whatever strength I had, “What makes you think I’ll break?” I followed his gaze down to chest and watched him swallow, slow and hard. These stupid clothes can’t even cover my shame. He leaned in and whispered into my ears, “ We’ll have to see then, don’t we?” His finger on my chin slowly moved downward, I held the edge of my dress, my breath increasing. He trailed his index finger down to the top of my breast. My grip tightened on my dress. He stopped on my n****e. My breath seized. I endured, I swallowed. One moan, and he wins. Though, he seemed to be fighting just as I was. I could see it in his eyes— raw hunger. His finger lingered, wanting to do more. It almost became a physical struggle for me. I wanted to rip my dress apart. To feel his bare palm on me, all over me. To press my body against it and maybe his magical lips again. Knock knock It was as if an invisible force pushed us away from each other. “I brought snacks.” Nana came in with a large tray. Glancing between his face and mine as she set it down. I coughed. Ryan cleared his throat. “Is everything okay?” She asked, eyeing us suspiciously. “Umm, yes, of course.” I almost stuttered. “Your clothes is ready.” “Thank you.” I went back into Ryan’s bedroom to change. I sat on the floor and buried my face in my palm. “What is wrong with me.” I cried out. Why can’t I control my body or mind when I’m with Ryan? It’s like I’m hypnotized. I changed into my dress swiftly, I didn’t want to stay too long. Ryan finished with the files and I placed them neatly into my handbag. He led the way and just when I sighed at the long stairs, he tapped a button on the wall beside the stairs and a door opened. It was an elevator. “There was an elevator and you made me walk all the way up earlier?” I almost screamed at him. “Exercise is good, you know?” He chuckled and walked in. “Really?” I stared in bewilderment. “It looks like you are in love with the stairs.” He gestured at the closing doors and I quickly flung myself in. I felt so betrayed and sorry for my ankle. After leaving the Blackwood’s mansion and returning the signed files just like I promised, with lots of gratitude from Sophia. I pulled out the burner phone from my handbag, “We need to see, ASAP.” “Usual spot. Be there in an hour.” He replied. I went home first, to shower and changed into casual clothes. Walking into the noisy bar, a few minutes after an hour. I grabbed a glass of wine and marched into the quiet VIP room. Marco appeared ten minutes later. “So sorry for keeping you waiting, had to settle some business.” He apologized looking like he came right here from the bathroom. His face fresh, and hair still wet. “It’s fine. I just got here myself.” I swallowed the last bit of wine. “So, what is this about?” He sat across from me. I passed my phone to him, “Do you know this guy?” His brows twitched at the picture I’d been staring at since I arrived. “He works for me, and i think I’ve seen him hang around with Land. What’s up?” He returned the phone to me and I settled back in my chair. The air became cold. I was wishing, praying, that I would be wrong. “What is it? Speak.” His voice tensed as he noticed my reaction. “He…” I was trying to understand everything all at once. “Straight to the point, Amy.” He was getting impatient. But I was hurt. I felt so sorry for Landon. I swallowed dryly and looked up at him, “He works for Lucas Blackwood. I saw him at the Blackwood’s Mansion today. I confirmed it from Ryan.” Marco went silent, I tried to guess his expression but his face gave nothing. “You’ve been looking for the person who tipped off the Blackwoods about the operation that night. What if…” How could I still use a guess word when I saw him with my own eyes, and confirmed with my own ears. “Bloody hell! He’s the snitch.” I slammed my fist on the table. It could’ve been anyone, but that bastard has eaten my pastries with a smile on his face. I wish I could feed him another one right now. It’ll be the last. Marco typed something aggressively on his phone. Then he made a call, “Did you get my text? Good.” He rose, “Thanks Amy. I’ll take it from here.” “Wherever you’re going tonight, it’s with me.” I stood. “This is… You know what? Whatever you want.” He led the way and I followed behind him. Oh! How I wish I could have five minutes with that bastard. I don’t need a weapon to finish him off, this rage inside me was more than enough.
