Peter crossed the threshold of the steel door. It snapped shut behind him. Curiously, for such a heavy door, it made no noise. The interior of the place was very dark, and there was no light in the corridor. Small lights, forming a straight line, appeared on the floor. That looked like the tiny runway of an airplane lit at night. It was an invitation to continue on the path of tiny lights, and Peter did so. It was a labyrinth, the luminous signs forced him to turn right, left, right again, and then left again. The lights went out behind him and new ones lit up in front of him. Really, if those little luminous signs were extinguished, he would be lost in the middle of nowhere. That particular idea did not reassure him at all.
