Chapter 4

510 Words
2 years later... It was the week of prom, I was adamant I wasn't going to go as it was some silly human tradition that never interested me. I was only going for Bonnie as neither of us had dates, no one ever wanted to take the weird loner girls. I was more interested in that tomorrow was my 18th birthday and I was going to finally be of age and classed as an adult... Even though werewolves first turned on their 16th birthday, most of our abilities don't come into affect until we turn 18th. My wolf, Thorn, was black with a half white face, white patches, one blue eye and one brown. It was rare for werewolves to have different coloured eyes but apparently an ancestor of mine had the same rarity. I liked to be different so it was nice not to be a brown or grey wolf like everybody else. I thought I'd go for a run... My last turn before becoming 18. I always went for runs out of sight as the shewolves in my pack would refer to me as the "Skunk" due to my wolves colouring, I wasn't ashamed but I had a difficult time controlling my temper most days... After running for a few hours, I returned back to the pack house where a familiar scent filled my nostrils... "brother" Thorn called to me... I ran inside and saw Matt, he'd changed a lot over 2 years... I ran to him and hugged him tightly. He had dark brown medium length hair, stubble on his face, tattoos and got taller and more muscular. "Hey sis" Matt greeted me with "Matt! You're back! Did you finish it? What was it like?" he chuckled at my excitement "You think I'd miss my little sisters 18th birthday? Me and Jack finished training early so we could be here for you" he replied "Jack? Didn't think he was my friend anymore" I told him "Of course he is, he's just under a lot of pressure... He's the Lycan Prince and had more training and more responsibilities than I did and I was just training to be an alpha" I considered what he said until I heard a deep voice behind me "Talking about me you two?" I turned to see a tall, muscular, tattooed, dark long haired bearded man stood in the doorway... I felt my heart pound away in my chest... Jack... "Long time no see, Roxie. You look well" he said to me "Well, you don't look so bad yourself" I replied to him... Wondering why I felt this way towards him... As a child he was yucky to me and was more like an older brother. He chuckled and as he walked away "I'll see you guys tomorrow, better go find my sister" I watched him walk away in dark denim jeans, a black sabbath t shirt and a leather jacket "Roxie... You've got some drool" Matt teased I pushed him and walked off up to my room to shower after my run.
