The bell had barely rung when the courtyard exploded into noise.

Laughter. Sneakers scraping the pavement. Coffee cups. Rumors. Heinstein was always alive.

But **today**... the air shifted.

A sleek, matte black **Maybach** pulled into the circular front drive.

Everyone froze.

“Wait—who the hell—” “That’s a *Maybach*.” “No. Freaking. Way.”

The car door opened.

Out stepped **Jason Reed**.

Black hoodie. Gold watch. Dark shades. Cold expression and zero entourage.

Students stared. Phones came out.

It wasn’t just the car. Or the mystery. It was the fact that Jason hadn’t been seen on campus in **two years**.

He walked past the fountain like he owned it.

Because technically… he did.

### 《Inside Heinstein – Administration Office》

Mrs. Callahan, the registrar, looked up and nearly dropped her pen.

“Mr. Reed?”

Jason removed his sunglasses.

“I’m still enrolled, right?”

“Yes—yes, of course. It’s just… we hadn’t seen you since—”

He held up a hand. “I’m back now. Don’t make it a headline.”

### 《Outside the Class – Later》

A group of students crowded around Jason.

“Is it true you dated Vanessa Chow?” “Are you, like, filming a movie here?” “Can I audition? I’m free Wednesdays.”

Jason ignored them all.

Students buzzed with excitement. Phones out. Eyes wide.

Jason Reed — movie star, producer, heir to Reed Global Studios — was walking up the marble steps of Heinstein College for the first time in **two years**.Of course every one wanted pictures.

But that didn’t stop the whispers.

“That’s Jason Reed!” “Why’s he here now?” “Isn’t he a Hollywood big shot?”

Jason tugged down his sunglasses, scanning the campus. It hadn’t changed much. Except now... everyone was watching him.

At a distance, Chloe stood frozen.

She ducked behind a pillar, adjusting her glasses nervously.

“Is that Jason Reed?” Lucy whispered beside her.

Chloe nodded. “He’s not supposed to be here… not now…”

Lucy frowned. “Do you… know him?”

Chloe didn’t answer.

But her eyes were wide — and haunted.

### 《Elsewhere on Campus – Arianna’s Entrance》

Arianna strutted down the walkway with Bianca and Kristen behind her.

She saw the crowd before she saw *him*.

“Who’s everyone losing their minds over now?” she muttered, flipping her hair.

Then her eyes locked on Jason.

Her lips curled into a slow, dangerous smile.

“Well… look who decided to show up.”

She didn’t hesitate. Walked straight toward him. Loud. Deliberate.

“Oh *my God*,” she said, voice carrying. “Isn’t that Jason *Reed*? Didn’t know we shared a campus with a Hollywood *heartthrob*.”

Jason turned.

He blinked once at Arianna.

Didn’t smile.

Didn’t speak.

Just… stared.

Arianna leaned in a little closer. “I’m Arianna Monroe. Student council vice-president. Welcome back to campus—though it’s a little late, don’t you think?”

Jason didn’t say a word. His eyes flicked… past her.

To someone behind a pillar.

**Chloe.**

Just before she ducked away again.

His brows furrowed slightly.

Arianna followed his gaze, confused.

“What are you looking at?” she snapped, but Jason had already walked past her.

### 《Chloe Bolts》

Chloe turned and **ran**.

Lucy blinked. “Chloe—?! What are you doing?”

“Don’t let him see me!” she whispered, clutching her bag and dashing through the side path.

### 《Outside – Fountain Courtyard》

Chloe skidded to a stop near the courtyard. Breathing fast. Her heart pounding.

Lucy and Drake caught up behind her.

“Okay, what the hell was *that*?” Drake asked.

“Why were you hiding from *Jason freaking Reed*?” Lucy added.

Chloe looked away. “I… I can’t explain right now.”

Drake crossed his arms. “Did something happen between you two?”

“Just… please. Don’t let him find me.” Her voice cracked. “Not here.”

### 《Back at the Front Walkway》

Arianna fumed.

“Who the hell *ignores* me for *her*?” she hissed.

Bianca looked confused. “Do you know who that girl was?”

Kristen shrugged. “ Didn’t see her face but I'm sure she is some scholarship nobody"
