CHAPTER 5; SAVING THE KISS

1217 Words
“Where have you been?!” My dad questioned. I didn’t answer. “Answer me!” I kept my mouth shut. I didn’t know what to say. I heard him sigh, “You know you have a curfew Delilah, who’s with you?” I looked up at him, his eyes were full hatred and disappointment. “A-axel…” He scoffs and opens the door seeing Axel on his phone. “Go to your room.” My dad commands, as I obeyed instantly. I heard the front door slam, praying that he wouldn’t do anything to Axel. He didn’t even greet a happy birthday…he never did. It's been a few hours and I didn’t see Axel’s car meaning he already left. I quickly chatted him if he was ok and he said yeah. I’ve known him since I was little and ‘yeah’ was never a good sign. I didn’t want to bother him more and just said sorry, he didn’t reply, but I wasn’t expecting him to reply anyway. I got a message from chickentenders saying he was exhausted. I smiled. Him texting me makes feel safe, he is my comfort zone I really didn’t know what I would do if we lost contact. I asked why and he replied ‘Uncle problems’ I kept chatting him all night, taking my mind off reality. We would constantly talk about the future, gossip about problematic celebrities and of course our problems with life. He understands me, and his humor was everything. I really want to know his real name but since it’s been only 3 weeks I don’t think I should, I overthink a lot so if I ask I would think he would get uncomfortable and leave me. I don’t want that as he was my only friend that knows how I feel, he’s my stress reliever. Time check – 8 : 22 ; Sunday It’s morning, my phone kept ringing. I picked it up seeing it was Yvette. “Hello?” I said still sleepy, “Hey girl! Wonna go shopping? Alisha can’t come because she has this thing and she isn’t telling me what this thing is.” I thought for a while, I really didn’t want to get up since it was a Sunday but I didn’t want to disappoint her. “Yeah sure, lets meet up in the mall around 11?” I asked hoping that she would agree and surprisingly she did. I finally got up and took a bath, then got dressed. I wore a black halter top, with a knitted cardigan, paired with some wide leg black pants. I didn’t want to eat breakfast, since I wasn’t feeling like eating and just planned to eat at the mall. I saw my dad with some of his employees at the backyard and was too distracted to see me leave. I saw Yvette at bath and body works where we decided to meet up. We hugged and started to go shopping. A few hours later I saw Mason walking alone, he was on his phone talking to someone. “Who’s that?” Yvette asked creeping up to me, I flinched and looked at her, “O-oh, it’s just that guy who gave me his number.” She gasps, her hand covering her mouth. “Then what are you doing here?! Go up to him!” I looked at her surprised giving her an ‘are you crazy?!’ look. She pushes me to where he was, and the next thing I knew I was in front of him. “Hey gorgeous.” He said looking at me with a smirky look on his face. I hiccupped. “You guys have fun!” Yvette said walking off, I was still shocked that I didn’t even get to say goodbye to her. Mason suddenly places a hand on my shoulder and I looked up to him, he was already looking at me. “Let’s go?” He asks, dragging me to Starbucks. I ordered an Iced dirty chai latte, and he ordered a Pumpkin cream cold brew. He paid for both of the beverages. We sat near the window, I sighed and took a sip of my coffee. I felt so awkward that I was tapping my foot rapidly, he noticed and chuckles, “Do you have any future plans?” He asks, trying to start up a conversation. I sat up straight, and was about to tell the amazing life planned I have for myself, but I know he would think it would never work, and it would never happen because of my dad’s stupid business. “No, not really.” He nods, “Well, I’ll just tell you mine then.” I sat back listening to him and he wanted to be an architect. He had all these plans and he explained how hard it was to study architecture, but it would be worth it. I smiled, knowing that his parents are super supportive about it. I took a sip of my coffee almost finished with it, “Speaking about jobs, what about you?” I hesitated, as he might judge me, “Well I want to be a photographer. I mean just taking pictures of people and for people, makes my heart fill up, pictures give you memories and every time you look at those pictures, the people that reminds you of those pictures will make you feel…” I don’t know, how to continue, there are so many things to describe, I was about to talk, until he finished it for me. “Blissful, filled with joy, over the moon?” I smiled softly nodding, when I look into his eyes, I could see that he understands and knows the feeling of it, I’m sure everyone knows the feeling of memories and happiness of them. I could stare into his eyes all day, mesmerized by them, I couldn’t help but just stare, his eyes were these upturned, dark brown eyes and I swear I could poke it. I shook it off and looked away, I heard him cough, “There’s an arcade near here, do you want to?” I stood up and so did he. “Yeah, sure.” We arrived at the arcade, and the sound of claw machines, basket balls bouncing, and people cheering were heard around the big ass room. He held my arm and dragged me to a 1vs1 game. *Other’s POV I saw them pass by and my jaw clenched, I wanted to follow them but I didn’t want to leave my friends behind. “Umm, guys? I’ll be right back.” I went to their direction and I heard her laugh, I felt this aching in my stomach and peaked to see them so close to each other. She won that round and got all full of herself, I chuckled, it’s so typical of her to be like that and I saw him laughing about it. They stopped and I saw him leaning in, and I’m guessing for a kiss, I didn’t know what to do, but I know I didn’t want him to kiss her. I ran up to them and swoop her by the waist. She gasps and looked up at me, confused and surprised. “Axel?!” I gulped. ‘s**t…’
