Chapter Six

Now I was getting scared. Those last few words rang in my head repeatedly, it was like crazy music playing in my head all day. And now I was already starting to get paranoid. Everyone here has known each other for a long time and I'm just a newbie here. This means I don't have anyone on my side, so even if I was being framed no one would believe it wasn't me. And unfortunately for me, I have managed to piss two very important people here, In a nutshell, I would have to avoid getting any more attention at the moment. I roughly rubbed my face in irritation. It was dark already and I'm now alone in my room. I have the diary with me opened and I smiled a little. At least I have something to confide in. But I still can't figure out this diary, why would Aunty Jo give me this with a knowing smile, and why on earth would the diary glow up without it being set on fire. I stood up and searched the drawers for a pen, who knows if the answer to all my questions would appear by me just writing something on it? I blew my hair off my face and sighed; I couldn't find any. An idea popped up in my head and I looked to the door with a little fear. I already knew Asher's room and it was just a little far from my room. The chances of me bumping into someone was very high. I looked at the diary having second thoughts of writing on it later. But something pulled me to walk out the door and make my little journey to Asher's room. On my toes, I walked quietly to Asher's room silently praying that I don't bump into anyone I already have bad blood with. my heart slowed arcing when my feet stooped in front of Asher's door, I looked around one more time and knocked rapidly on the door, crossing my fingers in hopes he was awake. "Cecile?..." I opened my eyes in relief in entered his room without hesitation. Immediately he shut the door, he faced me with a raised eyebrow. "What happened?" "Why do you think something happened." I bit my lips hoping my plans of stalling would work. I was hoping I could stay long enough for anyone who was still in the hallways to leave for their rooms. "You're asking me? You're the one who looks like she was being chased by a big bad wolf." He breathed. "Sorry, I was worried over something stupid. I just came to borrow a pen from you." I bit my lip again, I was starting to get sweaty and I was afraid Asher would notice it. "Uh. Yeah sure, you can have mine. Let me get it for you." He looked at me skeptically again and walked towards his drawers. I checked the time and I shivered. I don't understand why I'm feeling nervous all of a sudden, the feeling of me bumping into someone is freaking me out and I'm so confused. "Here it is... are you sure you're okay?" "Yeah, I just feel tired for tomorrow that's all." I forced a smile. "I understand, you could take a break if you feel tired. I'll just tell Mira to take over for you..." "No.no.no it's okay I don't want more problems. I already have enough as it is. Goodnight." I walked past him and opened the door taking a mental deep breath. I walked down the hallways step by step, my heart raced like crazy and I could feel goosebumps rising on my skin. It was eerily quiet and I made sure I walked very close to the walls to avoid being spotted or accidentally bumping into someone and I feared what would happen if I met Haden again. Somewhere deep down in my heart I wanted to see him again, and for a reason, I did not understand. My heart slowed its pace when I figured I was halfway closer to my room. Instead of walking, I decided to run the rest of my journey. Sweat dripped from my forehead and I felt so uneasy and I was confused. I looked around the empty hallways. The only light in the hallways were a few candles placed two feet away from each other on both sides. I kept my fast pace, I couldn't wait to get to the comfort of my bedroom. My eyes widened the minute I was in front of my bedroom door. I was very sure I didn't leave my room door open, not a single thought ran across my mind except for who is in there? The room looked empty but I didn't let my guard once until I walked closer to my bed. 'No way,' my whole system froze. Haden stood a foot away from me, his back faced me and I couldn't figure out what he was doing. "Where did you get this." His voice was void of any emotion and I've never felt more agitated. "I don't ..." His question confused me and I wished he would just... "I said, where did you get this!" He faced me swiftly as he walked closer to me as his eyes glowed red. I jumped a little, swallowing with difficulty. In his hands was the diary. And it was glowing like the last time. "Talk!" He growled "I-I got it, f-from m-my aunt. S-she gave it t-to me." I rushed my words as fast as I could even though I couldn't avoid stammering. I uncrossed my arms when Haden didn't speak, all he did was to stand frozen and harden his grip on the diary. "I-..." Before I could blink he was already gone the diary was back on my bed and the door was closed. I sighed in relief and immediately lock the door before I crashed on the floor. I still felt uneasy and I got more worried. I sighed again, and now I felt too drained to write anything which was a waste of my time running through the halls looking for something I wouldn't need later on. I regret ever leaving my room.
