Isabella By the time the last round of scans ended, exhaustion had settled so deeply into my body that even breathing felt heavy. The hospital room had long since grown dimmer outside the windows, the pale afternoon light fading into softer shades of gold while doctors moved quietly around me reviewing charts and images displayed across glowing screens.
