“Where are you off to?” She studied me quietly. "You're in a hurry."
"I'm heading out." I tilted my head to the side
"Clearly." I waited and she smiled faintly, before adding. "Hospital?"
My hand tightened slightly around my car keys, only slightly. Most people wouldn't have noticed, but unfortunately, my mother wasn't most people.
