A L Y S S A I felt weak and dizzy at the same time. Never in my time here did I expect to see my ex-boyfriend here. How the hell did he know where I was. Why would he come in the first place? He was the one who broke up with me for crying out loud! "Who are you?" Dan asked Trey who held me in his arms, stroking my arm with his thumb. "Who are you?" Trey asked him back, I could tell he was getting angry by his tone. "Dan." He answered like it was nothing. Like he didn't break up with me the day I was leaving without a reasonable reason as too why. I wasn't expecting what was coming next when I saw Trey's fist fly into Dan's face like a bat out of hell. Dan landed on the floor giving Trey an opening to get on top of him and land a few more punches to his jaw and eye before Josh and Nick actually pulled him off. "You mother fucker! You show your face round here again and you're a dead man!" Trey spat at him through his tone of fury. "Trey, get over there, leave him he ain't worth it." Nick shooed him off. "Lyss, I just wanted to talk to you." Dan said as he wiped the blood from his mouth. "We have nothing to talk about, Dan. You said everything there was to say the day I left. We're done." I told him. "But I miss you. I want you back." He cried out. "I don't care what you want! I've moved on. There is no I miss you, I want you back, you're nothing to me anymore." I shouted back at him. "You're so f*****g selfish, for you to come here, unannounced because of what you want! You didn't even think about me and how I would of handled this! You did this for you! No one else but your own f*****g reasons, so leave, Dan, I want you to go." Nick was by my side through the whole time and I hadn't even noticed. He never really did like Dan, he said he was a conceded asshole, and now I see it too, I see him for what he really is. A egotistical, selfish prick. "Lyss, please." "No, and do not call me Lyss again. You had your chance to stay with me, you had it handed to you on a plate, but you threw me away like I was last season Jimmy Choos, after a year together. Now it's my turn to turn my back on you, Dan." "Dan, just go mate you're making a fool of yourself. My sister don't want you, and to be honest, you don't deserve her, so leave or I'll make you leave." Nick joined in, talking in a manner that was both demanding and respectful. "Or do you want me to let Trey loose on your ass again." And he's back with his attitude. "I'm going, but I ain't giving up on, Lyss. You and me? We're meant to be together." "Go to hell!" Dan walked off and I didn't even watch to see where he went, I literally turned around and walked into Trey's arms. He's the only one I wanted to hold me in that moment, and he did it without hesitation, he held me tight as I rested my head on his chest. Nick was behind me stroking my hair. I just felt numb. I never actually realised how bad Dan hurt me until he showed up like he did, I knew he broke my heart into a million pieces, the way he let me go as easily as he did made me feel unworthy of love, I was with the guy for a whole year and he didn't even bother to try to remain with me once I moved, he just left me. But one good thing came out him showing up here, he made me realise what me and Trey have, what we built in a matter of a month, it was something I never felt with Dan the whole time I was with him. "Can I trust you to leave her with you?" I heard Nick ask Trey. "Of course man, I got her, don't worry." Nick walked off and I buried myself into Trey's chest. "He's not worth your tears, Parkes. Stop crying." Trey whispered into the top of my head. "I'm not crying." I whispered back. I look up at him and stare into the dark brown eyes of his that have a glint shining on them from the light off the bonfire. I stretch up on to my tip toes and place a small, gently kiss on his lips. This one was different to the others that were hot and passionate, this one was needed and gentle, it was warm and loving. "Did you, Alyssa Parkes, just kiss me, Trey Lake, first?" He mocked me. "I can never do it again if that's what you want." "That's not what I want." He whispered so sexily before pulling me into another kiss. Later that night, I got over the s**t with Dan, that was just a bump in my night. I continued to dance with the girls, I got closer to Trey then I've ever allowed myself to do before, and I drank an excessive amount. I was sat on Trey's lap on a large, thick log when Nadine approached me in a panic. "Lyss, have you seen Amanda and Nick?" "No, why? Is everything okay?" "No, I mean have you seen them? They're over there!" I look over to where Nadine is pointing to see Nick and Amanda in a full blown argument, it looked to be getting really heated, I decided to go over and see what was going on before it got out of hand. "You ducked me like I was nothing!" Ranged Amanda. "What's going on?" I asked. "Do you want to tell her or should I?" Amanda asked in a fit of anger. "Tell me what?" Nick looked uncomfortable. I knew my brother and this had to be big to make him feel this way, he wasn't easily phased by things, so whatever it was, was obviously bugging him. "Nick? What is it?" I asked him gently trying not to scare him off. "He got-" Amanda began. "Manda, shut up!" He cut her off. "Whatever it is, it's okay. I'm your sister, Nick." He let out a deep, frustrated sigh. "I got Amanda pregnant." I was stunned. I mean literally stunned, I was left speechless, I didn't know how to react at first but then something came over me and I suddenly felt sober and reasonable. "It's okay." I pulled Nick into a hug and he wrapped his arms around my waist and buried his head into my shoulder. Just by him doing that I knew he felt bad for what happened, I knew this was f*****g with his head and he had no idea how to handle the situation, or Amanda. I pulled away, keeping my hands on the tops of his arms. "It's okay." I said in a low tone. "That's not the best part." Amanda said snarky. "He ignored me for days after I told him, he completely avoided me and left me to deal with it, alone!" "Nick?" I questioned him. "I told you I was sorry, I was freaked out!" He snapped. "And I wasn't?! You left me to handle everything like I was a damn one night stand skank!" Amanda exclaimed, tears were not building in her eyes. "You left me to handle it, alone, Nick." she said softly now as she began to release tears from her eyes. "Nick you have to sort this out! Mom and Dad didn't raise us like this!" I scolded him. "Handle it, now!" I told him off before giving Amanda a hug and walking away. I could hear them begin talking in a civil tone before he put his arm around her and led her away, I'm assuming to talk somewhere more private, which is indeed needed with all these ears hanging round ready to send a tip in to VD. "Everything good, Parkes?" Trey asked me as I walked back up to him. "Yeah, well, it's between them." I shrugged. "So, you wanna get out of here?" "Yes. I'm so done with this beach." "I don't know I think it's been a good night, except, y'know, your ex turning up." "Ugh, that nightmare. I'd rather not talk about it." "C'mon, Parkes. I'll drive you back." "You've drank?" I said unsure. "And? I drive better when I've had a drink, increases my concentration." "How about I drive us back. I sobered up since earlier." "You drive me crazy." He said in a low, flirty tone. "You drive me up the wall." "You drive me home and I'll owe you." "Deal." "Nad, we're gonna head back now, you okay here or you wanna ride?" I called over to Nadine. "She's good here, I'll get her back, don't worry, Shorty." Josh answered for her. "Okay, text me when you're home so I know you both got back safe!" I waved them off and walked over to Trey's car with him hanging on to my shoulder for dear life. "Keys?" I said holding out my hand. "Pocket." He smirked at me as he looked down at himself. "Hand them to me?" "Help yourself." I rolled my eyes and sighed in frustration before shoving my hand into his pocket. No keys, but a large... "Other pocket, Parkes." He winked at me. "You could of said that before letting me route around." "I was enjoying the feeling." I shook my head and tried to bite back a smile but he saw right through it, per usual. I put my hand in his other pocket and pulled out his keys before unlocking the door and hopping in the drivers side. "Now, this car is powerful, can you handle it?" He asked me in a serious, drunk tone. "Haven't you learnt to never underestimate me, Lake." I said starting up the engine, making it roar. I sped off in his Porsche. "Damn, Parkes, don't break my baby." He said holding on to the handle of the door. I couldn't help but laugh, this is the first time I've seen him not so confident. I slowed down and drove normally, I kept glancing at Trey who had his eyes locked on me, watching my every move. "Can you stop staring at me? I ain't gonna crash your baby." I sniggered. "That's not why I'm watching you, Parkes." "Then why are you watching me?" "Because you're incredibly sexy, especially now, driving my car like a boss, it suits you." "It does?" I smirked. "It does, Parkes." He placed his hand on my leg, rubbing small circles with his thumb on my inner thigh, sending waves of heat through my body and my heart racing. "Tell me, Parkes. Do I make your heart beat race like you do mine?" "You're drunk, Lake. Leave it out." "Nah, nah. I want you to answer me." "Yes, Lake, you make my heart race." "I really like you, Parkes. I mean it, you're special to me and I'd do anything to make you happy." "That's the drink talking, sleep it off." "NO!" he scorned me. "Listen to me instead of opening that big mouth of yours." "Jeez. Okay, okay. Tell me cause I know you ain't gonna remember this in the morning." "Alyssa." He sighed as his eyes began to close. "I can see myself falling for you. Crazy head over heels in love for you." My jaw dropped and after a couple of seconds I looked over at him and he was fast asleep in the passenger seat with his head against the window but his hand still on my thigh. I honestly couldn't believe what he had said. I felt bad for pushing him away the way I had but I had to protect myself, I never wanted to feel the way I did when Dan broke up with me, never again. I pulled up to Trey's dorm entry way and helped him to his dorm. I got the keys and unlocked his door, with a struggle I walked him in, he was mumbling a load of random words, I had no idea what he was saying, but I'm almost positive I heard him say my name a few times. I dropped him as gentle as I could on the bed, him pulling me down with him. "Trey, let me go." I whispered. "No." "Let me go, Trey." "No." I gently pulled his arms from around me and covered him up, placing his bin beside him, I wasn't sure if he as the type to be sick after being wasted. I walked over to his desk and wrote a quick note for him. 'Lake, never get drunk on me again. Keys are on the table, and I hope you wake up with a banging headache. Loves, Parkes x' With that I placed a small kiss on his forehead leaving him fast asleep, smiling to himself.
