A L Y S S A
'VD to everyone - Hello my little scandalous lot. Another party, another lot of secrets and lies lay ahead and I can't wait too see what you all get up too. See ya soon, bitches.'
I threw my phone on my bed and got ready, I wasn't exactly looking forward to going to Nick's party tonight, not after what happened between me and Trey, but he was my brother and it would be weirder if I didn't, all the more for VD to mention something about me, I'm just preying that the kid who saw us hasn't said anything.
"You're awfully quiet tonight, who ya killed?" Amanda joked as she walked out the bathroom.
"What? No one!" I came across a little too defensive.
"Holy Chanel girl I was joking, damn."
"Sorry, sorry. Just a lot going on."
"Like? C'mon, spill the Starbucks."
"Nothing, it's stupid."
"Stupid is my favourite."
"I guessed that by your interest in my brother."
"First of all, your brother is not stupid, he's slow and second of all, he's hot so it's okay. So just tell me."
"Okay? I guess. So I kinda saw Trey in the gym and blurted out that everyone told me to stay away from him. I think-" I sighed before continuing. "I think I hurt his feelings."
She looked at me for a few moments before bursting out in laughter.
"What's so funny?!"
"The fact you thought you hurt Trey's feelings!" She said through a laugh.
"You don't think he was hurt?"
"Honey, listen... No one can hurt Trey's feelings. He simply doesn't have any to hurt, he's like a painting in the national museum, he's good to look at but you could say whatever to it and it's expression remains the same, you catch my drift?"
"I do? So you think he's okay?"
"Of course he's okay, he's Trey bloody Lake. He'll of bounced back quicker than you can google Lohan's mugshot."
"Okay, I feel much better now."
"Good, now get ready, your brothers expecting us to be there early and looking hot. Well me hot, not you, that would just be weird."
I shake my head and laugh at her ditziness.
Seeing as though I wasn't in much of a party mood tonight I decided to dress the way I felt, which was little to no effort at all. Let VD ridicule me on this, I honestly couldn't care, much anyway...
I threw on white V neck, satin tank paired it with a white and green palm tree effect mini wrap skirt and a pair of nude, peep toe Louis, I went over my natural curls with my curling iron to give them a little more volume, and applied a decent amount of make up, nothing too little, nothing too over the top, just that middle sweet spot. Once I was ready I called out to Amanda who had been hogging the bathroom most of the night, when she finally came out she was looking to give old men heart attacks and my brother heart palpitations. She wore a tight, high thigh red mini dress that clung to her body and paired it with black Christian Dior's and wore her hair in a curled up do and her make up looked amazing with her winged eyeliner, fresh smoky eye and the biggest false lashes that just suited her face to a T.
"Girl, you look incredible. You do realise my brother won't let you out of his sight in that dress." I raised a brow at her with a smirk on my lips.
"That was the whole point in wearing this masterpiece." She send me over the top flirty wink.
I couldn't help but laugh, I give it to her, she's ditzy but she knows what she wants and how to get it. Gotta give her props for that.
"So you ready to leave?" I asked grabbing my bag and phone.
"Yeah, just give me one second."
She raced over to her dresser, hopping along in her high heels and tight dress that she can barely move in and spritzed herself with Armani perfume, she literally drowned her outfit in it.
"Damn, Manda, that's a lot of perfume." I said through a cough.
"I know." She smiled innocently and walked out the door past me.
I just rolled my eyes and locked out door, following her through the dorm corridors.
When I walked into my brothers dorm room, there were already multiple people there, you could tell the party was just getting started. He was rushing round playing host, still setting up all the alcohol along the ping pong table he and my other brother had set up in their rooms.
"You're so unorganised it's ridiculous." I sarcastically taunted him.
"Just do me a solid by shutting up and helping me out will ya? Your sarcasm is not welcome here tonight."
"Oh then maybe I should just turn around and leave right now then." I smirked as I shrugged my shoulders.
"You're a real pain in my ass. Just finish putting these bottles out while I grab the solo cups."
"Gotcha back, bro." I said in an immature manner.
I grabbed the bottles of beer, spirts and whiskey off the bed and placed them neatly in a row along the ping pong table, taking the red solo cups off Nick and stacking them either side.
"There, done, wasn't so hard was it?" I crossed my arms over my chest.
All Nick could do was roll his eyes at me. His room was starting to fill out now, more and more people were showing up, I found myself watching the door and couldn't help but feel disappointed every time I saw it wasn't Trey coming in. What the hell was wrong with me, I already got what I wanted when I snapped at him and he said he'd leave me alone.
"Nick, thanks for the invite, I knew it would only be a matter of time before you came to your senses." I heard Jen's voice as she spoke to my brother in the most fake, flirtatious tone I have ever heard.
"Nah, my senses are good, I invited everyone, you just so happen to be there when I did." Nick replied.
"Well, I'm glad you invited me anyway, shall we grab a drink?"
"Just a quick one until Amanda comes back."
"Sure, a quick one." She said as she smugly smiled my way.
Like b***h, I do not care he's my brother, he can sleep with the school bike if he really wants too, just as long as he doesn't do it behind my friends back.
I was sat on Theo's bed when he walked over and sat beside me, we got into a comfortable conversation about how this week was going, he was telling me about his classes, and all the girls he's hooked up with, for some unknown reason but when I looked up to see Trey walk in with a few of his friends, smiling and laughing away, I felt my heart suddenly jump and begin to beat double time.
"Oh, Lyss. I thought I told you to stay away from him?" Theo groaned beside me.
"And I did?"
"Then why you staring at him like a starving lion?"
I slapped him arm defensively. "I ain't!"
"I know something is going on between you two and if you won't tell me, I'll ask him." He said standing to his feet.
I dragged him back down by his arm in a fit of panic of him finding out about the second kiss.
"Nothing is going on, we kissed once, that's it, nothing more, nothing less. Okay?"
"Fine, but if I find out you're lying, there's gonna be trouble."
"Okay, whatever."
"Okay."
He got up and went over to his friends leaving me sat on his bed like a lonely loser. I watched on as Trey was standing in the middle of the room dancing with these random girls and looked to be having a great time. Maybe Amanda was right, he didn't have feelings therefore he couldn't be hurt, which made me feel pity and sad at the same time. Maybe my brother was right, he wasn't worth the trouble.
"Hey lovely, how's it going?" Amy spoke with her hands on her hips and a smile on her face before taking a seat next to me.
"Hey Amy." I greeted her back.
"Have you seen Nadine anywhere? She hasn't been in any of her classes or back to the dorm room all night. I'm worried about her."
"I haven't seen her either, not since the party. Does she have a boyfriend or any other friends she could be with?"
"That's the thing, you remember the text VD sent out about the cheerleader who ran an old man over while being drunk? I have a terrible feeling that it was the guy she's been dating on and off and that she was with him. I've tried calling and texting both of them but nothing." She explained.
I could see the pained and worried expression upon her face and in her eyes, after all her and Nadine were pretty close.
"Oh my god. Is there anyone else who could know where they might be?"
"I've tried all options, asked everyone, even the boys that Jace hangs out with, I was thinking about driving to her parents house and seeing if she's hiding out there this weekend, I would of gone sooner but my classes this week are already on our ass. Fancy coming?"
"Yes, of course I'll be ther- Oh s**t. I promise my friends back home I'd drive back every weekend to see them."
"Oh no worries it's fine, I'll get some others to come with."
"It's okay, I'm sure they'll understand, count me in."
She beamed brightly at me. "Thank you, Alyssa!" She wrapped her arms around my neck and pulling me into a hug. As I looked over her shoulder I caught Trey's eyes on me as he danced behind some brunette who was bent over pushing herself upon him, once we made eye contact a smirk crept up across his face, as much as I wanted to punch him right now, that smirk of his was incredibly sexy.
"Whoa, ladies what's going on here?" Amanda said in a happy drunk tone slumping down on the bed next to me.
"We're planning on taking a drive up to Tallahassee to see if Nadine is at her parents, we haven't seen or heard from her, I'm worried she's been with Jace and he's the one who knocked the old man over."
"You're not serious! Let's go first thing in the morning, I'll get Trey and Nick to come with, ohhh and maybe even Josh and Drew! I'm saying ROAAADDD TRRIIIPPP!"
"Who's going on a road trip?" Trey butted in from behind Amanda with the girl he was dancing with under his arm.
"Us, you in? Bring Josh too! I like Josh, he's cool. And Drew! I'm totally shipping Drew and Alyssa!" Amanda beamed excitedly.
"Yeah, I'm in, never know, might need a saviour out there, 3 pretty ladies alone." He winked at me as he said the last part.
"Er, and what about me?" The brunette he was with said disgusted.
"Not now, Tasha." He rolled his eyes.
"It's Tanya, asshole." She removed his arm and stormed off through the dance floor.
"You never change do ya?" Amanda rolled her eyes with a raised brow.
"Not until I got someone to change for." He spoke with his eyes blazing into mine.
"I'm gonna get going girl, tell Nick I said bye." I said as I got to my feet.
"I'll walk you back." Trey suggested.
"I'm good, I think I can manage." I held my hand out stopping him from following me.
"Let him walk you back, Lyssa, especially since Conor is here tonight again, we don't want a repeat of last time." Amanda crossed her arms over her chest.
"Yeah, it's all the way over the other side of campus too. Please, let Trey walk you?" Amy joined in giving me the puppy dog eyes.
"Yeah, Lyss." He smirked at me and spoke like a toddler who got his own way.
"You really don't have too, stay and enjoy the party." I tried to persuade him.
"Na, ah, I'd rather walk you."
Holy s**t that was hot.
"Fine." I sighed.
I gave the girls a kiss and hug before taking Trey's hand he held out for me, following him as he weaved me through the many bodies dancing around the room. As soon as we got out of Nick's dorm room I snatched my hand back and walked ahead of him.
"Where ya running off too now, Princess?" Amusement flowing through his tone of voice.
"Who's running, bird turd?"
"Your insults are boring."
"Your face is boring."
"Now that was extremely boring."
"Like your life."
"Like your reason for not giving me a chance."
"Like your reason for trying to be in my life."
"You're feisty."
"You're an ass hat."
"You really need to learn some fresh insults, maybe I could help you out."
"You really need to take no for an answer, didn't I already teach you"
"I like this."
"You're the only one."
"C'mon, admit it. This back and forth got you biting a smile back."
"I ain't a liar."
"To others, maybe not, but to yourself you are."
"And how did you come up with that?"
"Because I know you have feelings for me, the same feelings I have for you."
"I know I'm hard to forget but do yourself a favour."
"I think you mean I'm hard to forget." He said smugly.
"Yeah, it's not everyday you meet a real life clown."
"Cupid?"
"No, clown."
"I heard you, I was giving you a chance to change your answer."
"Didn't need one, I know what I said."
He caught up to me now and began to walk by my side as we walked across the campus quad.
"You're a real brain teaser ain't you?" He tilted his head as he tried to analyse me.
"A brain teaser?" I raised a brow.
"Yeah, you make people think one thing, but then act another way, teasing the brain."
"I have no clue what you're on about, I'd think about what you're saying before you say it. You don't want to come across like a rambling moron do you."
"I completely understand why you didn't understand me, you're tiny brain couldn't comprehend my words could it?"
"Ugh." I rolled my eyes at him while he just chuckled like something was funny.
"So Amy is shipping you and Drew huh? You do know he's one of the boys don't you?" He lost his amused tone and sounded somewhat serious.
"Why is someone jealous already?" I replied self satisfied.
"No, I just don't know if your personalities will match, he's fun and outgoing, your a bore with boring insults."
"Well, y'know what they say. Opposites attract."
"Touché." He nodded with a righteous smirk across his plump lips. "Guess we'll find out tomorrow."
"Guess we will."
