Manon didn't argue. She didn't have the strength too, she stared at her two parents then Lucinda before walking to the middle of the leaving room as she knelt in the middle. Why was life so cruel to her? Ever since she was little, she loved doing good things for poor people and just trying to make everyone happy. But apart from Megan, who tried to make her happy? No one. As expected, her parents had treated her as if she didn't matter, as if she was just some outside who had offended their precious little daughter. She felt tears welling up in her eyes. She wouldn't cry. She wouldn't let them see her cry. "Am I really your daughter?" Manon asked as she stared at Mr and Mrs Brown. They never treated her like tears ever since she was born and she couldn't help but suspect maybe she was adopted or something. "What kind of question is that?" Mrs Brown immediately shot at Manon, Manon could see that her mother's expression had changed greatly. Why was she so nervous? Manon thought as she stared at Mrs Brown trying to find something. It was just a mere guess. Could it be true? "Don't try to startle your mother Manon, I was there when she specially gave birth to you and you have the audacity to treat her like this?" Mr Brown spoke as he threw his phone on the couch standing up. The red wooden cane in his hand that had a dragon on the top made him look scary. But as usual, Manon was used to all this. Lucinda was quietly enjoying the show in her mother's shoulder as she cried. She wanted Manon completely out of the picture so she could get everything Manon ever had, her husband, the company, the fame and her parents love and affection. Mr Brown walked over to his strong headed daughter, raising his cane as he struck her right on the shoulder. "Sometimes I wonder why you can't just be like Lucinda for once? Is it too hard to love your own sister and share some things?" Mr Brown had no idea that he sounded so ridiculous that Manon actually burst out laughing. Her laugh cold and emotionless, she couldn't believe this man standing in front of her was her father. Everyone else present in that room immediately stopped moving as Mr Brown's face became stone cold. "Are you serious dad...share something? Did she tell you she seduced my husband and framed me for cheating?" Manon said as Mr Brown looked at her casually as if it wasn't such a big deal. "Didn't you cheat? Because if you were framed why didn't you leave? She saw an opportunity amd made good use of it. You had it but you kept stalling. Five years into a marriage and you aren't even pregnant" Mr Brown said, the issue had been bothering him and his wife for months now, they had waited for the right time to question Manon and Jonathan. "What do you want from me exactly dad?" Manon asked as her father stared at her. He turned walking away from her before he finally spoke. "Leave the country Manon, don't make this hard for us than it already is. I'd keep on supporting you there, just leave" Mr brown said and Manon just sighed. She had always wanted to leave the country and go do something fun with her life. Maybe today was that day. She had planned to leave the country eventually and focus on herself. "Okay dad, mom. I'll take my leave" Manon stood up, dusted her knees as she walked out of the Brown Villa. She didn't look bag neither did she see the look on her father's face. He had a look of regret, but was it genuine? It was time for her to heal and think of only herself. ***** The next morning, Manon had already booked a flight to Paris. Megan had totally supported the idea of moving and told her she had a cousin over there who could accommodate her and help around with things. Manon was grateful for having Megan as a friend. When she woke up this morning, she had been feeling weak and drowsy but she assumed it was just because of what happened yesterday. Her bags were all loaded in the taxi as she stood outside with Megan. "You know, I'm going to miss your cute and sassy face" Megan chuckled listening to what Manon had said as she helped her roll her hair into a messy bun. "I won't stop video calling and visiting though. My cousin is a nice guy so don't worry and by the way, you look pale this morning?" Manon paused as something flashed in her head but she shook the thought of sighing. "I literally cried myself to sleep and I haven't had breakfast yet, but I'll get a check up immediately a land in Paris. Okay?" Manon reassured Megan, because Megan could over think things and later get a headache due to it. Megan felt tears welling up in her eyes as she stared at Manon. "I'm going to miss you so much" Manon chuckled pulling Megan into her arms as they hugged. "You'll always be my best friend, meggy" Pulling away from the hug, Megan pinched Manon's cheek. "Take care my love" Megan spoke as Manon nodded, allowing Megan's hand slip away from hers as she got into the taxi. As the car rolled away, Manon waved at Megan, turning as the car drove out of the estate. Finally, she could finally get a fresh start and just get things over with. Earlier what had flashed in her mind was nothing but her being pregnant. She had noticed some of the signs earlier but she would check once she got to Paris. She threw her head back as she laughed softly. "Your loss, Jonathan" Manon spoke to herself as she closed her eyes enjoying the sound of the bustling street's.
