“That’ll slow ‘em down Ray, now get ‘em.” Smith moved in, grinning. Billy stepped in front of him and was shoved aside, “Piss off you old fart,” snarled Smith, and for the first time in the fight Smith landed heavy punches to Matt’s head and face. He went crashing to the canvas. Matt’s nose was bleeding and a swelling was coming up over his left eye. He took a few seconds before getting up and, only just partially blocked a big right that sent him sprawling across the ring. It was only by grabbing the top rope that he managed to stay on his feet.
