Chapter 9 Sue woke with a start. It took a few seconds for her to realise where she was. “Morning. Coffee?” “Thanks.” The damp, humid air was thick with strange smells, all alien to Sue. After eating they loaded up the canoe with their things and themselves and set off upstream once again. The water lapped gently at the side of the canoe, and the slow, rhythmic beat from the motor was quite relaxing.
