I opened the door to the brightest light, as if the sun shining would make my stay here any less annoying. Squinting I put my hand above my eyes to see who could possibly be ringing the bell this early in the morning.
“YOURE BACK! Oh my gosh you’re back I can’t believe it!!” A voice squealed as I’m wrapped up in a hug that was almost suffocating.
“Yeah I’m back, who-?” I’m cut off as I’m squeezed tighter. What is she part anaconda? I shimmied out of her grip and looked at her trying to recognize the face in front of me. “Arabella?” I asked, some familiarity hitting me. Damn puberty was good to her, her face had cleared up almost completely and she looked like she’d developed to almost a D cup. I sighed internally forcing myself not to look down at my barely B’s I’m still sporting.
“Yup it’s me! Nice huh?” She postured knowingly. “No more stuffing and no more hiding behind my bangs!” Arabella beamed at me toothily. “Oh yeah and no more braces. Total glow up!”
It’s true, her hair was pulled back in a butterfly headband. The kind that grips your hair with little jewels so it has the lines going back and her lips were actually lined and fully glossed. The outfit she was wearing screamed “I have breasts notice them” as the half hoodie over a fitting lace lined tank-top was a size too small as to push them up more. I’m not gay in any way but damn even I could admit she was hot. Jealousy started to rise in me, the only thing that had changed about me in the past 3 years was that I was taller. I shifted on my feet realizing that I was still in my robe and pajamas. Was everyone here such an early riser or have I just gotten used to sleeping in?
“There she is, you know I’ve been wondering when you’d grace us with your presence again.” A muscular frame came into view drawing my focus from the girl in front of me.
“Artorius?” I said immediately recognizing his voice. Artorius was Arabella’s twin. But while she took after her mom looking blonde and dainty, he took after his dad, chocolate and firm and tall and oh my gosh I think I’m drooling. His eyes were the same as his sister and his mom’s, a deep ocean blue with flecks of green, otherwise you’d never know they were twins.
“It’s Luke now” Arabella giggles. “He says that his first name sounds too ancient so now he’s having everyone call him by his middle name, or at least a variation of it,” she said as she rolled her eyes “as if there was a huge difference between Luke and Lucas.”
“Kat gets it dontcha Kat?” He asked with pleading eyes, looks like this has been a sore spot for him. I still couldn’t get over how ripped he was. Looks like puberty was nice for the both of them.
“I do, nobody wants a name that makes them sound like they’re from ancient history. Just like they don’t like having 3 first names as a name” I grimace remembering my own name.
“Y’all want to come inside? I need a moment to ya know, wake up and get dressed. There should be lemonade in the fridge” I step aside waving them in before I bolt up the stairs to my room.
“You think she knows yet?” I hear Arabella whisper as I ascend. Only to be quickly shushed by her brother.
