In Zeppelin Lz-101, Major Orpheus was listening to the news on the radio.
“Today communication was lost with the Zeppelin Lz-102 and all its crew, it is completely unknown what happened.
Contact has also been lost with the three ships that accompanied them. It is estimated that the losses add up to more than 3,000 disappearances.
Because of the danger of the eastern region, expeditions to that place have been prohibited, a ceremony of honor will be held for all the disappeared.
These were the first victims of the elf world. May their memories last in our minds forever. “
Major Orpheus sighed and drank some whiskey. “I think we already know why we haven’t found elves in the sea, it’s too dangerous.”
As he took another sip of his whiskey, he could see land in the distance, so he opened his eyes and turned to see his communications officer.
“Quickly report back to headquarters that we’ve found solid ground.”
As the communications officer relayed the information, Major Orpheus looked curiously at the landmass that was forming.
On the coast, a group of half-elven children and elves were playing on the coast when they could see a huge construction in the sky that surprised them quite a bit.
“What is that Chedomir thing going to be, do you think we should inform the village chief?”
Chedomir did not listen to his companion as he was looking at the boats far off the coast.
Major Orfeo, using his spyglass, saw that there seemed to be people on the coast but decided not to open fire because he did not know if they were hostile or just civilians.
“Start the process of descent on the beach and that the troops prepare for the first contact. I also want those linguists, sociologists and anthropologists ready to be able to initiate communications.
It is important that we remain calm during the first contact, as that will depend on having an effective and safe disembarkation.
I do not know about you but I want a non-aggressive contact, also everyone wears gas masks because we do not know if we are dangerous for them or they are dangerous for us. “
Everyone in the Zeppelin began to prepare. The soldiers took their rifles, pistols, and grenades.
Once they were armed, they put on their gas masks and prepared for first contact.
Chedomir the half-elf boy, looked at the huge ship in the sky as it slowly descended, he unlike his friends, was not scared by the huge airship.
On the contrary, he looked at her with enough curiosity because his mother was a harpy, so she always told him how his species could fly in the air.
That is why that huge aircraft made him curious to know how it worked to be able to fly in the sky without wings.
The Zeppelin was lowering slowly until it reached the ground where a hatch was opened, where soldiers began to leave to maintain the perimeter.
But a woman with a gas mask named Hanna also got out. She was the linguist of the aircraft, so she was surprised to see a child looking at everyone with surprise on the beach.
The boy had sharp ears, but he also had some kind of feathers in his hands, which surprised Hanna.
Who approached the boy slowly and with raised hands.
Chedomir was not afraid of the strange creatures that came down from that aircraft because he could not feel hatred or danger in them. It was more as if they were looking at him with curiosity.
Hanna, being close to the boy, took from the vest that had a trowel which she handed to the boy. She took one and showed him how to open it.
Chedomir looked at the paddle in his hand and, after removing the strange plastic shield, he placed the paddle in his mouth.
At that moment, the sweet taste of the lollipop made him say a few words.
Hanna, who was listening, quickly took out a notebook and began to write what she understood, using the Diustic alphabet she tried to write as much as she could.
When she finished writing, she looked at the boy and pointed to herself. “I am Hanna.”
The child who had not understood shook his head to the side because he did not know what the woman in front of him meant.
Hanna, without following the rules, took off her gas mask and revealed her fine face with her beautiful blue eyes and red hair.
At that moment she made the same signal with her fingers “I am Hanna and you are?”
The boy, seeing how the human woman pointed at him, said “Chedomir”
Because he could sense that he was asking his name.
Hanna smiled and repeated again “I am Hanna and you are Chedomir.”
Chedomir pointed at Hanna and scratched his head. “You are Hanna.”
Hanna nodded, and pointing to her ears, looked at the boy. “I am human.”
The boy touched his own sharp ears and said “I am a half-elf.”
Hanna, who was quite happy because she felt that communication was progressing, began to draw two pictures in her notebook.
The first had her face, and the other had the child’s face. Hanna then wrote the name of the two and the race.
When Chedomir looked at the drawing, he smiled and laughed. Because he found the drawing quite funny.
At that moment, Chedomir heard his father, so he turned his head and greeted his father, who was approaching with the entire village.
When Hanna saw this, she hope to be able to communicate with an adult, but from what she had heard from the child the pronunciation was very similar to the pronunciation of the desert peoples.
So she only sighed because her knowledge of that kind of language was not very good, but she knew it would be a matter of time before she could establish complete communication.
When Chedomir’s father approached his son, he looked at the human with some doubt because he did not understand what a human woman was doing in a gigantic machine.
The elf's father stroked his chin and pointed to the machine. “Do you belong to the rebels?”
Hanna scratched her head as she had not understood anything, so she tried communication by pictures because it was the easiest to associate.
As she did so, the soldiers guarded the perimeter of the Zeppelin while they began to create some trenches.
