Drusilla the Savior

1079 Words
Drusilla, who was in the Z zone of the battlefront healing the wounded soldiers, was surprised when a group of officers brought her an elf with brown hair and green eyes.   He appeared to have some non-serious wounds that would require cleaning, as they could become infected.   When Drusilla approached the man, he looked at her with eyes of hatred, shouting at her a series of words that Drusilla did not even understand.   But as a fairly well-trained and professional nurse, she started checking the elf’s body, the first thing she did to use a little alcohol to clean the wounds.   Later, she uses a needle and thread to be able to suture the wounds and that they could become infected. The whole process was somewhat slow, but when it was over.   She looked at the guards who were taking care of the prisoner. “His visible wounds are healed, but he should stay in a bed so he can be checked.   Well, he did have injuries in this category; it is quite likely that he could have suffered some more injuries, so we must review his condition.“   “Sergeant Drusilla, we agree, but this man appears to be the prince of one of the nations close to the Agmadis empire.   So it has a very important value, so there will always be some soldiers taking care of it. I hope you don’t mind. “   Drusilla just grimaced, “It bothers me, because as a doctor I have to be moving from one side to the other to be taking care of the other patients, but I suppose he is a diplomatic patient.   So just keep your men out of the place where the nurses are constantly passing.   Well, in another way I will find myself in the painful need to make a report to the headquarters to be able to request some other soldiers who do respect my rules.   I don’t think I have asked for anything excessive so that you can’t do it. “   The soldier gave a military salute. “You can be sure Sergeant Drusilla that we will not interfere with your work.”   Drusilla nodded and continued working on her duty to care for the patients who were arriving, as well as supervising those who were already there.   To do this, working in this way was something simple because she was already completely used to having to deal with all kinds of injuries and even dangerous situations, such as when a soldier arrived with a severed foot and a severed grenade.   It was only enough that he moved the soldier’s foot wrong for the grenade to explode.   But Drusilla was unfazed because, with all the experience he had, he was able to quickly charge himself with removing the dangerous explosive device from the soldier’s leg.   That same day, while she was working, she realized that the elf who had barely answered was presenting a completely lost look, as if he did not know where he was.   This alarmed Drusilla as it seemed to be a dangerous condition of the head, so she quickly approached the elf using a special lamp and checked her eyes while opening her eyelids with her fingers.   At that moment, she realized that he was completely lost, so she quickly informed her nurses to prepare for the x-ray area.   The nurses, following Drusilla’s orders, quickly began to set up the large x-ray machine, and when it was completely ready, they carried the elf on a stretcher to the machine.   Drusilla, using the machine, took an image of the elf’s skull and realized that it seemed to have a fractured skull.   This set off the alarms in Drusilla, as she knew that there must be intracranial inflammation, so it was possible that in a short time he would die if the intracranial pressure was not relieved.   But the only really recognized process to be able to treat this condition was having to open the head to make a hole in the skull in order to allow the brain to expand, thus releasing the pressure.   It was a rather complicated surgery, but Drusilla was willing to perform it, so she quickly prepared the operating room and entered with her nurses to attend to the danger that there was for the elf prince.   The first thing she did was use a razor to cut all the hair on the elf’s head, then she disinfected the entire area and once she was done, she opened the skin of the scalp using a scalpel.   After this, the skull fracture was not found. Using a special saw, she began to cut the skull in that area to create a circle large enough so that the brain could expand without any problem.   She did all this in the slowest and most calm way possible because cutting himself too much could end up damaging the elf’s brain, thereby causing his death.   When she finished cutting the piece of skull, she could see the elf’s gray brain as it slowly expanded.   So she just let the brain expand naturally, while she grabbed some surgical steel tools to start fixing the elf’s skull.   Although they would look bad in the future with those pieces of metal, the same skull would repair itself without doing anything.   After some time, the brain reduced in size, so Drusilla placed the piece of skull that had broken and held it using metal pieces on the skull.   When he was done, he put down the metal pieces and began to close the elf’s scalp using a needle and thread.   After this, she left the elf in a highly sterilized room so that he could not develop any disease or infection from the wounds.    The elf who was completely asleep only with his childhood in the royal palace and the many things he had been living through.   But for some reason, he could not stop remembering the appearance of Drusilla. That well-formed body, that beautiful hair and such beautiful skin made him feel something strange in his heart.   Drusilla, who knew nothing about the elf’s dreams, only took a quick break to eat a little so she could attend to two other patients before she could sleep.   Well, although she will completely enjoy caring for patients, she could not push her body to the limit knowing that she could suffer from some disease that could prevent her from continuing with her work to save lives.
