Training in the desert

1196 Words
On a sand dune, Luco was jogging with a group of 100 recruits, all of whom were wearing clothes from the desert people and black boots.   They also carried heavy backpacks and their sniper rifles on their backs.   “Keep running soldiers. This is a simple training in the desert so you know what it feels like to be in extreme conditions.   They must remember that the desert does not take prisoners, once one is lost in a desert area or moves to get out or dies among its earth dunes.   If you run out of water, you can only survive 3 or 4 days, but even if you are strong, you will not last over 5 days.   The first day without water they will have a headache and a sore throat, the second day without water you will have extreme thirst and a dry mouth.   On the third day without water, your eyes will begin to dry out and sink into their sockets due to lack of fluid. You will have dry skin and they may even have a fever.   Which will hinder your chances of surviving one more.   On the fourth day, you will suffer kidney failure where you would be dead but you would not know it, finally the fifth day will be the day of their death.   You will not have a beautiful funeral in a military pantheon, your corpses will dry in the desert heat as they become mummies.   Which will end up being absorbed into the desert sand so your corpses will never be found.   If you want advice, if on the third day you do not have water, prepare your weapons to end your life on the fourth day because you do not want to suffer kidney failure.   There is no way to cure kidney failure, only a sad life in bed awaits you before you die swollen from the retention of fluids in your body.   Remember that you can drink your urine only if you do not have water. It will be something disgusting, but when your body needs fluids.   It is the only way to guarantee that you can survive. “   After jogging through the dunes for another hour, they all reached the camp where they drank water.   Leuco who was also exhausted, was sitting on a chair while preparing for the afternoon training.   For this he used a notebook where he wrote what he would do for the training, this because the best recruits of the course.   They would give this same training to the following recruits, albeit always under the supervision of desert people who were experts in desert life.   When he finished writing, Leuco raised his head and could look at the survival advisor, drinking some water calmly.   Considering that he had done the same training as everyone, it was quite surprising that he was so calm drinking water.   “I can see that you have a lot of experience in the desert. I think your life has been complicated, right?”   The man from the desert simply smiled “Not Leuco at all. My life has been quite calm, but I learned from a very young age to respect the desert.   If you enter its sand dunes without having a clear aim, you will disrespect the desert, but even worse, you will threaten your own life.   Well, the desert should never be underestimated. It is an area where you should only enter if you know what you want to achieve.   I learned that as a child during the trips between town and town in the desert; I learned how to find water and find oasis because of the guidance of my father.   But now that I think about it, what will the afternoon training be? “   Leuco held his sniper rifle in his hands “They will have to shoot a target at 500 meters, while they are enduring the desert heat.   They should not move while they are lying chest on the ground because as snipers, the most valuable thing is patience.   Once in one of the colonies, I was lying in the mud with rain for two days. I only drank water and urinated on a bottle.   All to be able to find a rebel leader who, when he left his home, a bullet ended his life. Although it was a magnificent feat, I still remember the eyes of his son.   Who watched as his father fell dead in front of him, his face of doubt that later turned into a cry as he moved the corpse of his father. “   The man from the desert only showed a condescending look “You are very brave to do what you do. I think I could not end the life of a person.   I appreciate the tranquility of the desert although, of course, I have killed animals but I always do it just to eat from them.   Always using a knife to end their lives without the poor suffering, it is something hard, but as food I do not feel remorse.   I think what you need is to have a little faith in what you want. With faith, you will have a mental and spiritual respite from the problems that afflict you.   You can believe in whatever you want, just close your eyes and say your prayers. Perhaps the goddess Elefthería would be a good option to think about your prayers.   Although it can be whoever you want, we as desert people believe that the desert that seems cruel is a source of life.   We respect him and pay tribute to him spiritually because although he is dangerous, without his guidance, we could not have survived for generations inside him.   But that is just my humble opinion on how I see the spiritual. In the end, you will have to walk some path alone.   Perhaps on that path you will find the answers you are looking for or find a cruel reality. Life is how we see it.   If we want it to be cruel, life will be cruel, but if we want it to be happy, our life will be full of joy.   It is as simple as changing words in our life. An example would be if one falls to the ground and the first thing he does is denied and curse.   You are bringing the negative into your life, so you will always see things sadly or as if life hates you.   But if instead you get up, wipe the dirt on your clothes and smile, it is to look at things with optimism.   Sometimes what we think is complicated is not, we just need to stop and breathe deeply to relax, after this the problems will be easier to answer. “   Leuco, who had listened to everything, took a deep breath and looked up at the roof of the tent while thinking about when was the last time he thanked life.   It was when he met his wife or it was when he had his son, but of one thing he was sure and that is that for a long time he has not felt grateful for life.
