Raven
It's a usual monday morning... Good mood for the start working day of the week will be a good mood for the rest of the week!
I sighed heavily when everything is not helping at the moment! Why is it such a big deal?! I went out of the elevator when it reached my floor. Greetings came by.
I went inside my office quickly and the moment I sat down, my heart is beating fast. This is normal! I fast walked to go here so my blood pressure becomes a bit high...
His hand was on my waist and my head was nearly resting on his chest. He asked me for a dance even though there was no music. Just us. Dancing in silence. He kissed me before the contract and now we almost kissed. He could've kissed me but he didn't.
Fuck that memory.
I opened my laptop to check some emails and my door opened. I immediately knew who it was.
"Morning," Rao greeted. I looked at him and he handed me a thick legal packet. "Updated drafts of the upcoming project. Signed and reviewed."
I nodded. "Thank you," I said while flipping through the pages without looking at him.
He didn't leave.
But still, I didn't acknowledge him. Maybe this is now my most awkward thirty seconds of my life.
"About satuday-" he began.
"It was a good look." I cut him off. "Cameras and the media would've loved it."
I looked up to him and he blinked once.
"That's what you want?" He asked, coldly. His expression, unreadable.
"It's what we agreed on, isn't it?"
Pause. Silence again. I hate when it comes.
"Right," he spoke, finally. "Just making sure we're still pretending." He turned around to go.
Before he reached the handle of my door I spoke without lifting my gaze from the papers he gave.
"You didn't have to kiss me." I reassured.
No answer.
"I know." he said. "That's why I didn't."
That was the last thing he said before walking out my office. I miss the time when we're friends. I mean... we still are so... I don't get the tension... Is it just me or... I rubbed my forehead to think. Right... Maybe it was my fault that he got uncomfortable with me.
I need to do something.
I secretly found out his favorite coffee and before ordering that I have to go to the supply room. I went in and the lights were out. I got what I needed and I slammed the door shut then locked it.
"The hell-"
I turned around quickly, eyes widened when I heard his voice from inside.
"Oh my god... are you in there?" I asked.
"No. I'm in Paris," he deadpanned. "Yes, I'm in here."
I couldn't help but laugh at the situation. I quickly went closer to the door.
"You better not be breaking anything in there. That closet's older than your sense of humor." I smirked and leaned through the door.
"Let me out and I won't you sue you for workplace entrapment."
I let out a soft laugh. "Ooooh... tempting. I think HR would understand."
I unlocked the door and as I stood from where I was, barely-hidden grin, my arms crossed as he quickly walked towards me. He's standing too close to me.
"Was this a payback?" He asked then he slightly smirked. "You're not very good at subtle revenge, my CEO." He whispered in my ear that sent shivers down my spine.
"You haven't seen anything yet." I grinned and walked away.
We have a conference meeting and while one of the board members speaks, my mind is flying. I'm tired. I looked at Rao who's already looking at me. He's at the other end of side of the table.
I raised my brow when he didn't tear our gaze and he grinned a bit.
I rolled my eyes and I focused at the presentation.
After a few hours, meeting was adjourned. For the first time I walked out first as I quickly went to my office. The moment I stepped in my office, I removed my heels. Bare-footed, I walked towards my table to get my takeout and sat on my sofa to eat them.
I was startled when my door opened.
"Jesus! You should really learn on how to knock!" I glared at him then continued eating.
He somehow looked amused at what he's looking at right now. "Uh-huh... was about to ask you for dinner. After work."
I looked at him warily. "Our date night is still on saturday not today." I shook my head.
"It's not a date night. It's dinner."
"No." I said, teasingly.
He raised his brow and went closer to me then sat down beside me.
"Your fake boyfriend wants to go and have a steak dinner with his girl." He sounded so pleading.
"Where's the cold and ruthless Raoul Elijah that everyone knows?" I smirked and his expression changed immediately. "Kidding." I chuckled and he flicked my nose.
"You're insufferable." He smiled a bit.
The air shifted.
"Raoul, you do know that you are too?" I pointed my spoon at him.
"Oh, Rave." He chuckled. "It's my biggest accomplishment to get into your nerves."
I glared at him and he laughed.
He returned to his office and I thought of something I shouldn't and I did something that I must not.
Raven: What if I asked a kiss just for fun because I miss the feeling?
Raoul: Calm your lips, miss. ;) I follow the law.
Raven: What if I steal a kiss?
Raoul: I could sue you.
I chuckled at that.
Raven: MWA
I waited a few seconds.
Raoul: Stop flirting and lock your office door this instant.
I giggled like a child and opened my door a bit to take a peek at the hallway only to see him standing right in front of his door. He somehow noticed me and looked through my direction. I smiled and he smirked in return.
