Raoul
"Attorney Grey, Ms. Raven Buenaventura is here."
I smirked at that. I looked at my team and saw how shocked this poor guy Ethan was. I'll fire him tonight. "Meeting adjourned." I stated, and they all stood up immediately and moments later my girlfriend came inside.
"Awful timing I see." She greeted and smiled softly. I stood up and walked slowly towards her. "I tried my best to think you're not in the middle of a meeting, I swear. I was even in the parking lot for 15 minutes-" I kissed her and I groaned when I felt her kiss me back.
"Good to see you too, my darling." I smirked. "I told you last night that you can come here anytime you want, so even when I'm at the most important meeting in the world, your access will not be denied."
I saw how her cheeks were so flushed, probably because of the kiss, and I can't help to feel my c**k be needy. f**k this.
"Let's go out for brunch." I stated, and placed my hand on her waist as we walked out of the meeting room.
We passed by my team's area and saw their shocking eyes and my greatest achievement was that Ethan was looking. Raven and I went to my car and I drove her to one of the 3-michelin star restaurants.
"What are your plans this afternoon?" I asked as we got seated.
"I plan on going back to work, of course." She chuckled and I really can't help but stare at her. This pretend thing between us is something to pay for. My ex will be furious.
"I'll bring you to your work." but she immediately disagreed.
"I brought my car. It's at your parking."
"Don't bother. I'll ask someone to take it home. I'll bring you to work and fetch you after." I stated not going to give in to any of her declines. If she's going to be my pretend girlfriend the very least I could do is to offer her acts of service of being a boyfriend.
She nodded. Accepted her fate. We were silent as I drove to her company. I guess the awkwardness between us can't be lifted so early because she knows this is all pretend. As soon as we are alone, we're back to reality where she and I are just strangers.
"What time is your out?" I asked as she gets ready to get out of my car.
"I'm not sure though. I could just text you if ever." She answered and I nodded.
"No kiss goodbye for your boyfriend?" I smirked, teasingly. She smirked back and laughed a bit.
"Goodbye, Rao." She winked and went out of my car.
Well I'll be damned. I'm about to ruin her purity just because we're in this forced relationship by my parents. I only ever loved Julia. I thought about her again and still felt pain for the betrayal she had done and yet here I am still loving her. A beep from my phone takes away my flying thoughts.
Raven: I'm inside my office already xoxo haha.
I smiled painfully. Now, I'm curious about Ethan and Raven. I saw her when she was with Ethan back a few years ago, and I know they were married. Not until their divorce came out in the media, but it was immediately taken down.
Raoul: I'm driving back to my firm. Hoping you get my flying kiss through your 30-storey building. :*
I went back to my firm and some of my team greeted me. As I walk pass thru the hallway, what a surprise that Ethan Ruiz is walking towards me.
"Boss," he called and I stopped walking. "May I ask if... what did Raven Buenavente want?" I chuckled at that.
"She's not my client," I answered, coldly. My emotions grew impatient because God knows the reason why and I don't. "She's my girlfriend." I did not wait for his answer and instantly walked away to go inside my office.
Raoul: I told your ex that I'm your boyfriend.
I waited for her reply.
5 minutes...
10 minutes...
Why isn't she answering?
Raoul: Busy?
Goddamnit I sound desperate. Why am I even so desperate for her reply? I put my phone down and called my secretary.
"Call Ethan Ruiz." I ordered and just a few seconds, he's in front of me.
I went to my hard copy files to find the name of the client he cheated on with Raven. I pulled the folder out and sat down. I tossed the folder on my desk and looked at him furiously.
"Tell me about Hera Smith." I stated.
He sighed. "Uh, she was my client from a year ago who's going through a rough divorce-"
"No. Tell me why, after she became your client, suddenly you got divorced and now you're engaged to this woman."
He looked at me with the same intensity that I'm giving him. I don't give a f**k if he gets mad. If I had known this sooner, my money for his salary didn't go to waste for a f*****g year. I just didn't give a damn about who he was engaged with the time he announced.
"What did Raven tell you?" He gritted his teeth. I smirked.
"Don't you f*****g bring my girl's name into your filthy mouth and tell me. I have rules, don't I? Never get involved with a client unless it is family."
"I didn't!" He defended.
"Then f*****g explain why after the case and hearing in court, a day after you proposed Raven a divorce."
He stayed silent. I think I got my answer.
"You know what happens when my lawyers get involved with a client do you?" I said, seriously. I'm not f*****g playing. I know to myself this isn't just about the rule that I made.
Ethan smirked. "Raven told you to fire me, didn't she?"
I slammed my palm onto my desk and stood up. "One more f*****g mention of her name from your mouth and you won't like it, Ruiz." I saw how he stepped back. Scared? "She didn't. She has nothing to do with you. Actually, someone reported to me and it is not her. I just confirmed it with her before I spoke to you."
"Boss, I played fair-"
"You're fired. Immediately and effectively today as you walk out of this office."
"Boss-"
"OUT."
He nodded and went out of my office.
I sat down and massaged my forehead.
Raven: Hi, Rao. Sorry, I was just in a meeting. What did he say? For sure, he doesn't buy it.
Raoul: On my way.
I grabbed my keys and turned down all of my work for the day. I don't feel like working.
