It was a total disgrace! Now I’ve given them what to talk about. I would be the topic for every gist for the next two to three weeks. What a foolish mistake! I knew I needed to follow the lecturer’s advice and concentrate on my studies but still, as long as Sarah remained in that class, I would always be distracted. My love for her was like a fire burning in me. How could I concentrate in class when Sarah was there? I had to speak to her, maybe confess my feelings for her, so I started planning and rehearsing THE PERFECT WORDS. I was busy practicing the perfect words when Claire walked in and caught me in the act. “What’s going on here?” she asked me. “What’s in that sheet of paper?” I hid the paper from her. “I’m writing a poem” I lied. “Oh, I love poems.” She jumped up with excitement. “Can I read it?” “Uh– no, I won’t allow it” “Why? Are you practicing the perfect words?” What has the world become!!! A girl eleven years of age asking me if I’m practicing the perfect words. How in the world did she know? “What perfect words?” I asked pretending like I didn’t get her message. “You know– when a boy likes a girl and wants to approach her, he practices the perfect words that will please the girl” My mouth stood wide open in disbelief, I was staring at my younger sister who seemed to know more about relationships than I do. “How did you know this? You are just thirteen!” I asked her in disbelief. “It’s not my fault that you are a social Nerd” she replied and walked out of the room. Maybe she knew of my plans but how? Well that didn’t matter cause I had planned to implement my plans the next day. Sarah was busy chatting with her friends when I entered the school hall. She smiled towards my direction though not at me; I took it as a sign that my day would be a good one. While going through the things in my locker, I practiced the lines once more for a perfect finish. I was determined not to back out. Should I call her name or should I just walk up to her and excuse her from her friends? But that would be rude. Before I knew it, I called out her name and she turned back cause she was already going. I ran up to her. “You called me?” She asked me. “Yeah, I just wanted to tell you that– that… ”I became short of words cause I got lost in her beautiful eyes.
