My anger returned in waves and I snarled at him.
“Oh no you don’t! You will not change the topic, you f****d that brat! It makes so much sense why she thinks she can challenge me.”
“It was a long time ago, she means nothing to me.”
I let out a scoff
“Is that supposed to make me feel better?!’ I snapped, not even understanding why I was so furious about it. He thought I was dead and I would be stupid if I expected him to be celibate yet the primal part of me wanted to shed the blood of every woman who had the guts to sleep with him.
My lycan surged forward, out for blood. I stumbled down the stairs, my vision clouded by a silvery rage, determined to paint every single house red with Olivia's blood and some of Jacob's too for f*****g her.
“Damn it Adelaide!!!” He snapped, grabbing me by the arms, he lifted me up and slammed me onto a nearby table, pinning my wrists against it. My lycan snarled at him and he snarled back.
“You will listen to me.”
“Don't you dare…”
My words trailed off as his thumb pressed on the mark, a gasp escaping my lips as surges of pleasure coursed through me.
“Shhh… that's it”
My lycan's snarls turned into soft whines as she retreated, my vision clearing once more. I could still feel the rage boiling beneath me.
His other hand moved down to my abdomen, as he positioned himself between my exposed legs, the gown had ridden up during my struggle.
“Yes, I slept with her but it was a long time ago and the moment I snapped out of whatever funk I was in, I put an end to it.” He explained, running his thumb along his mark as he leaned down, burying his nose in my hair. He moved down, pressing soft kisses to my neck and shoulder.
“Besides… no woman will ever hold a candle to you.”
His hand moved from my abdomen, down to my exposed thighs.
"Your scent, your taste... they're intoxicating.” He whispered, his fingers tracing along my inner thigh. “Like a man savouring his first taste of ambrosia, I find myself yearning for more of you with every passing second."
I shivered beneath him, my body betraying the fury still burning inside me. His words, his touch, they ignited something primal and raw, but the anger still lurked beneath the surface.
His lips brushed against my ear, his breath warm and teasing. "Do you feel it, Adelaide?" he murmured, his voice thick with desire. "No one else can ever make me feel this way."
“You f****d her.” I snapped. “Your words mean absolutely nothing to me.”
His lips found the hollow of my throat, and I bit back a moan, hating how he was able to unravel me so easily. “You're right, words mean nothing in the place of action.” he whispered against my skin.
My breath hitched as his hand traced further up my thigh, teasing the delicate edge of my lace underwear. My heart pounded in my chest, my lycan and I were torn between anger and lust.
"Jacob," I breathed, his name escaping my lips in a desperate plea, though I wasn’t sure if I wanted him to stop or if I wanted more.
"I belong to you," he continued, his voice low and commanding. "Only you." He pressed his hips against me, making his point clear, and a surge of heat shot through me.
Before I could retort, his thumb moved to my c**t and he rubbed on it, making me gasp, my body arching against him. His mouth moved back to his mark, his tongue tracing the lines of it, and I felt the connection between us flare to life. My breath came in short, shallow gasps as I clutched at the table. I closed my eyes, allowing myself to drown in the feeling of him.
His lips moved down, brushing against my collar bone. “It’s you, Adelaide. It has always been you.” He breathed. “Not her, just you.”
My lycan stirred beneath the surface, still angry but tempered by our bond. His fingers kept their slow, torturous rhythm, rubbing soft circles over my c**t. Each touch sent a ripple of pleasure through me, and despite the anger still simmering inside, I felt my body surrendering to him.
“Just you,” he whispered again, his voice low and rough, the words vibrating against my skin. His fingers slid under the lace of my underwear, his touch deliberate and unrelenting, and I gasped, my back arching against the table.
“Damn you,” I breathed, but the words came out more of a moan than anything else.
His teeth grazed the mark on my neck, sending another pulse of heat through me.
“I know you’re angry and you have every right to be” he murmured, his lips brushing my skin with each word. “But this… us… it’s deeper than that.” His fingers slid lower, teasing me, making my breath hitch again. “You feel it too.”
I did, the bond between us, the pull that developed after he marked me. It was stronger than any anger, than any betrayal.
My body reacted to him, even as my mind tried to cling to the fury, to the jealousy. But with each stroke of his fingers, with every kiss he took against my skin, I felt myself slipping further into the haze of desire. It wasn't fair how he could just do this to me, that he could make me forget—even for a moment—what had happened. But Eda, did I want him.
His hand slid further, fingers sinking into me, and I gasped, my body instinctively pushing against him. His thumb continued to circle my c**t, his movements slow, deliberate, driving me to the edge of sanity.
“Jacob,” I breathed, my voice trembling.
He lifted his head, his eyes locking onto mine, flashing red with desire.
“Yes baby, tell me what you need.” he whispered, his fingers moving in perfect rhythm. I swallowed hard, my breath coming in shallow gasps as I struggled to hold onto the anger, but his touch was overwhelming, drowning me in sensation. My lycan, the treacherous beast, had surrendered to him, basking in the pleasure.
“I hate you,” I whimpered, though the words held no heat. His lips twitched into a knowing smile as he pressed deeper into me, his thumb flicking over my c**t in a way that made my vision blur.
“Liar,” he murmured.
I gasped, my body trembling, the tension inside me building to an unbearable peak. His movements became more insistent, his fingers stroking me in a way that made it impossible to think, impossible to hold onto the anger.
“Let go, baby, let go for me.” he whispered, his breath hot against my skin.
His words pushed me over the edge, and with a cry, I came undone, my body arching as the pleasure crashed over me. He didn’t stop, his fingers continuing their slow, deliberate rhythm as he pressed his lips to mine in a searing kiss that was both tender and possessive.
When the waves of pleasure finally subsided, I collapsed against the table, my body trembling, my breath ragged. Jacob hovered over me, his forehead pressed to mine, his hand still resting on my thigh, his fingers still teasing me gently.
“Still angry?”
I blinked away the dark spots as I tried to catch my breath, my body still floating on a pleasure cloud as he pressed lazy kisses all over my shoulder and the swell of my breasts.
“Now, what did Felipe tell you?” He asked, raising his head to look at me.
I stared at him, dazed, my lycan completely satisfied, leaving my thoughts hazy and scattered.
"Wha..."
He chuckled softly, his beard brushing against my cheek, the sensation sending a shiver down my spine.
"Earth to Adelaide."
I blinked, trying to regain my composure before narrowing my eyes at him.
“You did that on purpose.”
“Did what?” His smirk all too knowing.
“Made me...” My voice faltered, heat rushing to my face.
“Made you what?” His tone dipped, teasingly.
“You know what,” I muttered, attempting to rise, but his arms tightened around me, pulling me close.
“Made you c*m?” he whispered, his lips grazing my ear. “It was the only way to make sure you didn’t go on a killing spree,” he murmured, stepping back just enough for me to catch my breath. I sat up, adjusting the hem of my gown, trying to reclaim some sense of control.
He extended his hand, and I took it, letting him pull me off the table. His other hand slid to my waist, steadying me.
“Careful, now.”
“You don’t play fair,” I muttered, glaring at him, though my annoyance was half-hearted at best. He laughed, tucking a loose strand of hair behind my ear, his touch lingering.
“I never said I was fair. Now, let’s hear that explanation you owe me."
I sighed and followed him to his office, one thing I was sure of was that I would never look at the table in the foyer the same way ever again.
We reached his office and I sat, watching as he walked over to his drink cabinet.
“Would you like something bræw?” He asked, lifting up the decanter. I wrinkled my nose.
“I'll pass, that s**t tastes like smelly old boots.” I replied.
“I don't think Samara would appreciate that.” He stated, I couldn’t help but feel guilty knowing I had used her and she didn't want anything to do with me.
“Does she still come into the pack?” I asked as he poured me a glass of wine.
“Yes, I didn't ban her.” He replied, handing me the glass. I took a sip watching as he poured himself a glass of blood.
“Why do you drink that?” I blurted out.
Geez… great going Adelaide.
"Drink human blood?" he asked, his gaze flicking to the glass filled with crimson liquid. I nodded, even from where I was seated, I could smell the metallic scent.
“I've always drank it, I can't remember a time when I didn't. I need it just like everyone needs air and water to survive.” He replied, his voice soft.
“But why?” I pressed on. He sat on the edge of his table, staring at his glass cup.
“I really don't know why… it has always been like that for me…” He trailed off before shaking his head.
“So Felipe?”
“Oh right…” I sat up, twisting my Luna ring and Alpha Prime ring. “I bumped into him in the passageway, he told me that he was a very good friend of my father and that it wasn't fair what happened to him but that he's willing to help me bring you down.” I replied. Jacob nodded, taking a sip of his drink.
“And what did you tell him?”
“I told him it was nice to have an ally so close and I appreciated his offer.”
Jacob remained silent, his finger tapping against the rim of his glass.
“This is why I hid your mark,” I confessed, my voice low. “I needed to see if Adlartok was working alone, but it seems Felipe is involved too.”
“Did Felipe mention Adlartok?” he asked, his eyes narrowing. I shook my head.
“No, but even if they aren’t working together, they are after the same thing.” He nodded thoughtfully.
“Makes you wonder just how many of the Primes are against us.”
“There’s only one way to find out,” I whispered. His head lifted, curiosity flickering in his gaze.
“How?”
I stepped closer, extending my hand toward him.
“Enemies in public, mates in private.”
He stared at my hand for a moment before placing his cup on the table and gripping my wrist. He pulled me sharply against him. I gasped, my hand landing on his chest to steady myself. I looked up, my breath catching as I saw the intensity in his crimson eyes.
Oh Eda, his eyes are so hauntingly beautiful.
“Enemies in public, mates in private, huh?”
“Yeah,” I murmured, my gaze dropping to his lips.
“Well…” He reached up, gently brushing my hair from my face. “Since we’re in private now, why don’t we seal the deal with a kiss? It’s only fitting, don’t you think?”
My throat tightened, and I could only nod, words escaping me as he pulled me closer. His lips met mine, firm yet tender, and I melted into him, a soft sigh escaping as the world faded around us.
I could get used to this…
*************** ****************** ****************
I walked into the dining room where Jacob was seated, having breakfast, it was the next day and I was running late to the Consulate.
“Good morning.” He said.
“Good morning.” I replied, sitting next to him, my former spot discarded. He handed me the pot of coffee and I smiled, thanking him.
I bit into my toast just as he handed me a piece of paper.
“What's this?” I asked, taking it from him.
“A copy of the letter I sent Adlartok last night.” He replied, casually, as he took a sip of his coffee. I turned my attention to the letter.
To the Antarctic Alpha Prime,
This letter serves as formal notification regarding the transfer of ownership of the Port of Ushuaia from the South American Alpha Prime to the North American Alpha Prime. Consequently, all legal and equitable interests in the lands, properties, and warehouses associated with the aforementioned port have been transferred to Alpha Prime Jacob Mont Blanc.
It has come to our attention that you have held possession of Warehouses A1 to A20 in Zone 2 for the past 30 years. We hereby notify you that we shall not honor the existing lease agreement you maintained with the South American Alpha Prime, and we request your immediate vacating of the premises.
Furthermore, after thorough deliberation, we have decided not to continue the existing shipping contract. However, we are open to negotiating a new agreement, with terms designed to be mutually beneficial for both continents.
We look forward to your prompt response.
Yours faithfully,
Ben Curtis

For: Alpha Prime Jacob Mont Blanc
I glanced up from the letter.
"He’s going to be livid."
Jacob smirked, lazily popping a grape into his mouth from the fruit platter.
"Livid enough to trigger a cardiac arrest?"
I chuckled, taking a slow sip of my coffee. "If only."
His expression shifted, turning serious. "There’s a chance he’ll call, ask if you know anything about this letter."
I tilted my head, feigning innocence. "But Aldartok, Mont Blanc handles all business matters privately. What would I know?"
Jacob’s eyes darkened, an intense glint flashing in them. In a swift motion, he leaned forward, resting his hand on the side of my chair, pulling it, along with me, closer to him. The chair screeched across the floor, and I gasped as the sudden proximity set my heart racing.
“I have to admit,” he whispered, his voice low, sending a shiver down my spine, “there’s something incredibly arousing about seeing you like this.”
His words left my stomach in knots, my mind scrambling to respond. My throat felt impossibly dry.
“I…”
Before I could form a sentence, Jacob reached out, lazily twirling a stray curl around his finger. But just as the tension built, the door swung open, and Tony strode in.
“Sorry to interrupt your breakfast but there's been an incident.”
Jacob frowned, pulling back.
“What kind of incident?” He asked.
“It's… It's bad… I think it's better you come in person.” He replied. Jacob got up and I followed suit, we followed Tony out of the house to his car which was still running.
“Is it pack related?” Jacob asked as Tony drove, he shook his head.
“Not pack business but the park.”
We drove under tense silence and I couldn't help but wonder what had Tony so disturbed. He drove out of the pack and into the park lands, which I had come to know was still an extension of Jacob's pack.
A few minutes later, the car slowed down at a makeshift check point where some park rangers were standing. I could easily tell they were werewolves. Tony drove through and we continued on. I looked out of the window for any sign of trouble but I couldn't see anything until the car came to a stop.
We got out and followed Tony to where a group of people in white lab coats were gathered. He cleared his throat and they looked up before stepping back for us. I looked down at what they had gathered around.
“It's a dead deer,” I uttered, confused while Jacob crouched, running his hand along the coarse fur.
“Devoid of every ounce of blood.” Tony replied.
“There seems to be no outlet for the blood.” Jacob murmured. “An animal can't just have all its blood disappear without a wound.”
He stood up.
“That's not all” Tony stated, making me raise a brow as he walked over to some foliage and pulled a few branches aside. We followed and I held back a gasp.
20 dead deers…
“Same condition as the first one. No wound, devoid of blood.”
“Do the humans know?” Jacob asked, his eyes on the dead animals.
“No, one of our park rangers stumbled across the scene while on patrol and alerted me.” Tony explained, he nodded.
“I want this entire part of the park cordoned off, get trucks and transport the carcasses back to the pack as soon as possible, I will contact as much Veterinarians as I can, have them come in and ascertain what this could be, if it's a disease or something else.” He instructed.
Tony nodded.
“Okay, I'll get on that right away.” He walked off, pressing his phone to his ear.
“What do you think this could be?” I asked, glancing at the animals. Jacob sighed, folding his arms across his chest.
“No idea, but whatever it is, I plan on getting to the bottom of it.” He muttered before glancing at his watch.
“It's getting late, you should head to the Consulate.”
I glanced at my own watch, my eyes widening.
“Shite! I have to go.”
My mind warred between wanting to stay here and my obligation to my people. He must have sensed my internal struggle because he stepped forward and took my hand in his.
“Go, we'll talk about any updates tonight.” He whispered.
“Okay.”
“One of the security guards will take you back to the cottage in Tony's car.” He instructed, I nodded and made my way back to the car where the guard was waiting. I got in, my mind on the dead animals and what could have possibly caused it.
We arrived at the cottage and I headed up to grab my bags before making my way downstairs to my car and making the drive out of Yellowstone to the Consulate. I parked my car and walked in, nodding at the guards and the people on the ground floor.
“Prime?”
I turned to see one of the women from the front desk holding a brown envelope.
“Good morning, this came in today from the North American Wolf Registry.”
My heart leapt in my throat as I realised what it was, I was tempted to open it right there but I stopped myself.
I should open this with Jacob, it only seems fair as he helped.
“Thank you.” I said, collecting the envelope from her. She bowed, heading back to her station while I made my way up to my office. I settled in, checking my itinerary.
Meeting
Virtual meeting
Visitation
I sighed, flipping the first file on my table, preparing myself for the first meeting of the day.
********** ********* **********
“And it is pertinent that we have the results ready before Thursday.” The Belgian Alpha uttered.
“With all due respect ma'am, you can't rush these things if you want proper results.” One of the scientists replied.
“We are on a schedule, we don't have the time anymore.” The Alpha pressed on.
“When is the deadline?” I asked, glancing down at the papers in front of me.
“20 days from now.”
“And how long till we get the results?” I asked.
“30 days, the Alpha should have consulted with us before making her plans.”
I sighed, just about to speak when my phone buzzed. Adlartok’s name flashed on the screen.
Well, well, well… didn’t take long, did it?
“Excuse me, can we reconvene at 2 pm Central European Time?” I suggested, already closing the file.
“Of course, Prime Adelaide.”
I ended the call just as the video notification came through.
Prime Adlartok.
I tapped to answer, slipping a practised smile onto my lips.
“Good afternoon, Adlartok.” I greeted smoothly. The slight tightening around his eyes and mouth told me all I needed to know—his day wasn’t going well.
Perfect.
“Adelaide,” he replied, forcing a smile that barely stretched across his face. “How are you?”
I looked down at my hands, letting a brief silence linger before meeting his gaze with a touch of vulnerability.
“I’m… surviving,” I whispered.
His eyes softened, just as I knew they would.
“You poor thing… having to deal with that monster. I noticed Prime Felipe was in attendance at Jacob’s recent event.”
I nodded, allowing a slight pause, as if reluctant to discuss it.
“Yes.”
His eyes narrowed slightly. Bait taken.
“Did he… Jacob, I mean, did he mention any agreement to you?” he probed.
I furrowed my brow, feigning confusion.
“An agreement? Jacob keeps whatever business his continent has to himself,” I said, leaning forward, my voice lowered with concern. “Why? What’s wrong?”
Adlartok’s control faltered, his lycan flashing through his features for a second before he reined it in.
“That bastard thinks he can freeze me out.”
“What did he do?” I pressed, my voice laced with a mix of worry and curiosity, while inside I revelled in his frustration.
“He’s made an agreement with Felipe, and now I’ve lost control of the Ushuaia port. That bastard imposed restrictions that make it impossible to import resources into my continent,” he growled.
I raised my brow, leaning in slightly, my lips parting in a small gasp.
“That… bastard” I growled, mimicking his tone, feeling my lycan bristle at the word.
Settle, girl.
“I can’t imagine what he’s up to. Jacob never had any interest in Ushuaia before…” I mused, letting my words hang in the air, planting the seed of doubt.
Adlartok frowned, deep in thought. “What can I do to help?” I asked, my voice dripping with sincerity as I gazed at him through half-lidded eyes.
“For now, nothing,” he said, still brooding. “I’ll have to play nice with Jacob for now, see what he wants, but rest assured, I’ll make him pay for this.”
You’ll try.
“Of course, if I find anything, you’ll be the first to know. I’m always here to help,” I offered, the sweetness of my words masking my true intent.
He gave me a grateful look. “Thank you, Adelaide. You’re truly your father’s daughter—always ready to help those who need it.”
I smiled warmly, and he ended the call. As soon as the screen went dark, the smile dropped from my face.
Idiot.
I leaned back in my seat, contemplating the conversation I had with him. I was tempted to call it a day, head home and tell Jacob about the conversation.
You still have a continent to run
Sighing, I continued with my work, still eager for the day to end so I could go home… to Jacob… to my mate. The thought brought a genuine smile to my lips.
************** *************** *****************
I switched off the car, the report from the Registry safely tucked into my bag. Eager to read the findings with Jacob and tell him about my conversation with Adlartok, I grabbed my bags and headed into the cottage, excitement bubbling within me. It was odd that I was looking forward to seeing him when a week back, I would rather lose an arm than have a civil discussion with him.
Shaking my head, I made my way to his office. I walked through the conference room, ready to knock on the door to his main office when I heard laughter— a woman’s melodic laugh, accompanied by Jacob's deeper chuckles.
Since when did Jacob chuckle unless something ominous was about to unfold?
It better not be that brat; I didn't have the mental energy to deal with her today.
I pushed open the door and stormed in, abruptly halting as my gaze fell on a dark-skinned woman seated in Jacob's chair, while he lounged casually on his desk. Her dark eyes locked onto mine, and a smile spread across her face as she gracefully rose to her feet and glided over to me.
“Adelaide Silverstone, it’s a pleasure to finally meet you,” she said, extending her hand for a shake. I stared at her, the alarm bells ringing in my head, ignoring her outstretched hand. There was something unsettling about her, something inherently wrong.
“What are you?” I demanded, my voice steady despite the unease swirling inside me.
