Case 2: The Hangman Execution

A foggy day in the city of New Glacier, there is been held an very horrible scene for all citizens to see, in a dark alley a man is been hang, for its own crime. The morning arrive, the Knight team has arrive in the crime scene, before them is the SCIS autopsy doctor, Dr. Joshua Stellar, a 53 year old man, he is looking at the poor man hanging. Aron and his team came close to him; they raise their heads and see the man hanging.

“Morning Doc, what we hang here?” ask Otto

“Well as you can see, I can’t give you much since the poor young fella is hanging his neck up there” Dr. Stellar said to Aron

“Probably Suicide?” ask Aron

“I doubt it, but can’t be sure unless we can get him down from there” answer Dr. Stellar.

They manage to cut down the poor hangman and lower him to the ground gently with the help of the Knights team, Dr. Stellar started his work, injecting a liver temperature on the body, checking every angle of it, he concluded that the Victim died by a broken neck, but he could be wrong, so they bag him up and put him on the autopsy truck. Wield they finish up with the victim, the rest of the team started to check on the area, Otto jump high enough to reach the roof where the victim ‘jump’, he found some sort of beer cans and bottles, he notice that one of the cans has lipstick on it, so he bag two of them. Titania search the ally, she sniff the air, but with all the trash there she couldn’t get much, then her eyes landed on a piece of business card, she grab it and bag it, as for Aron he notice that there are security cameras near the ally area, so he walk toward the store and ask for the feeds in the tape. They finish their work in the crime scene area and left to back to SCIS.

In the lab, Nicolas and Scarlet are working on the victims clothing and on the rope that he used to hang himself with, then out of nowhere, Otto come in the lab, with some coffee and snacks.

“I smell coffee and some sugar cookies entering right now” said Scarlet passing a quipsters on the rope

“Really, I wanted to surprise the both of you and you just happen to spoil it Carly” answer Otto honestly

“Carly? Where the hell that nickname came from?” said Nicolas as he grabs his coffee and cookie

“You know, her name is ‘Scarlet’ remove the ‘S’ and replace ‘et’ to ‘y’ that is equal as ‘Carly’” explain Otto

“Scarlet is just fine Otto, I’m not fond in pet names”

Then a voice she would never forget spoke “What are you talking about Scarlet, you like when I call you ‘Kitty’” said Aron entering the lab

Scarlet made a heavily, cold, murderess glare at Aron, she turn around and left, Aron isn’t affected by her cold glare, on the other hand Otto and Nicolas took 20 steps back by it “That woman scares the s**t out of me” said Otto

“You have no idea” said Nicolas

Aron walk inside the autopsy room, asking for the victim, Joshua had already cut him open, he tells Aron that the victim, had suffer a concussion before he jump to his death, but there is another problem, and that Aron was right, the victim was murder, because there were tissues found on his victims nails, indicating that the victim struggle with someone, in little words, he was murder and make it look like a suicide.

Aron walk back inside the Forensic Team, he sees Nicolas and Scarlet arguing in the second floor, then he sees Scarlet struggling with Nicolas, he tie a rope on her neck and push her to the second lever boarder, as she falls, Aron use his Dragons speed to reach Scarlet, but once there, he sees that she is fine and land on a four mattress in the floor, Aron let go a relive sigh. Both Scarlet and Nicolas are confused, and then he glares at both of them.

“What the devil’s name were you two playing?!” snap Aron at them

Scarlet, get off the mattresses “We do this when we don’t understand what really happen with our victim, so we decide to made a stage of it. It turns out that we don’t know if the murder is a woman or a man, so we are posing both of them to find out” answer Scarlet

Nicolas lowers the raid that there were in and get off of it “We know that our Victim is no other than a famous boxer name Joseph Jones a.k.a J.J Champ” said Nicolas

“Our Victim, is a Copy Cat demon, someone that drains the strength of its enemies and used it against it, he had a lot of fan, but other weren’t exactly fans, at least that is what his agent said, Miss Lidia Manson, she’s been his agent for 15 years under this industry” said Scarlet removing the rope and walking toward the computer “I also found traces of unknown lotion or some sort of sanitize on the rope, here is your Victim’s address and car model, also the phone number of the last person that spoke to him, J.J Champ’s agent” said Scarlet

Aron pat on Scarlet and Nicolas shoulder “You two rock, but please a little warning on the stage thing” he said as he left the room

Scarlet snicker and Nicolas laugh “You are an evil little devil” said Nicolas

“I know” answer Scarlet with a smile on her face

Aron and the rest of the Knights team arrive at the victims house, Titania stood near the entrance and smell around to see if there is a faint smell on the area, witch there was a faint one of jasmine lotion, and there is no presence of a demon near the area, as Aron and Titania enter the premiere, Otto notice the plants moving, so he cast a earth quick sand on the plants, the plants were swallow by the quick sand, Aron and Titania look at him.

“It seems we are dealing with an earth demon” said Otto glaring at nothing

“It seems like it” answer Aron

Aron search the area, he notice the window on the second floor of the house that is almost open, the three of them climb or jump on the roof near the window, Titania try to reach the alarm system on the window, she closed her eyes and concentrate in freezing it, making it broken and gently open the window, they walk around the area, searching and using their Dragons senses, the room is fill with jasmine odor, is making it a little hard to sniff some other scents. Then Otto open the bathroom door and his eyes widen, he call out to Aron and Titania, when they arrive where Otto is they all watch a woman’s dead body in the bathtub, fill with ice and the strong smell of jasmine.

“Call for Dr. Stellar and the rest of the group” said Aron

Later that day, everyone there were working on the new crime scene, Dr. Stellar is investigating on the new victim.

“So what do you think?” ask Aron

“Well the is force trauma in the head that might cause to be unconscious for a few hours, the killer knew that she wasn’t death so she drown her, her lungs are fill with water, she has a broken ankle cause by the tripping, but there are some tissue on her nails indication that she struggle with the killer and hit her on the wall, not strong enough, so your killer might be a low lever demon or a human” explain the Dr. Stellar, as they bag the new Victim

Otto and Titania came to Aron indicating that the Jasmine smell is making them unable to use their senses to identify the killers scent, Aron nods his head and they all head to the SCIS. Once there he walk to his desk chair and sigh, he turn his computer screen, there he use a background of Scarlet when she was young, on her side is himself with a bright smile on his face, then he open the case filed, two pictures with the tags of ‘J.J Champ’ and ‘Jane Doe’, without their names he can’t continue the investigation, neither of them had wallet, purse or even an ID tag on them, is like no one what to ID them, then Aron’s phone rings, he pick it up.

“Kingston” he said in monotone

"Lucinda Maple" said that sweet tone voice he could recognize anywhere

“Excuse me?” ask Aron confuse to Scarlet

"That’s her name, she is J.J Champ’s girl, graduated in the X university, with a high score of GPA, not to mention that her carrier is house agency, she is a huge fan in fighting, she meat J.J Champ, when she bought VIP tickets to see him fight and meet the guy, her record is clean of crimes and bad behavior" answer Scarlet on the phone

“What about the tissue that is under both victims nails?” ask Aron

“I’m still running the sample, however I can tell you that our murder, surely was excessively expose to that Jasmine Splash and lotion, so your murder smells like Jasmine" said Scarlet

“Do you know the product production?” ask Aron again

“Working on it" she said and hung up

Scarlet is glaring at the computer screen for unknown reason, Nicolas enter to the lab with a box of products, he open the box and a mixture of jasmine fragrance hit Scarlet nose, she look at Nicolas, he is putting every product of every fabric company of Jasmine fragrance, Scarlet got out of the chair to get the materials for the test of each product, they started to work on it, until Titania came to the lab, she sees the two scientist working, she walk toward them and sat on a stool that is near their working area, Scarlet is looking at the Microscope.

“You know we are just staring working Titania” said Scarlet not moving from her area and writing what she sees in the microscope on a paper she has on her side

“I’m just here because Otto is annoying the s**t out of me” answer Titania garbing a pencil, taping it on the table

“He is getting on everyone’s nerves recently, alright, as long as you don’t touch anything you can stay” Scarlet said in a monotone

Titania stare at Scarlet, she sees that she looks younger than her, she also has dark circles under her eyes, she moves her stare at Nicolas, that he has the same dark circles under his eyes, she also notice that they are wearing the same clothing since two days ago, she got to the conclusion, they haven’t slept in two days. A few minutes later one of the machines started to sound, Nicolas walk toward it, he press a bottom that send the results to the computer, Scarlet and Nicolas groan in union, Titania became confuse by their disappointment.

“What?” ask Titania

“Our murder is...” said Nicolas

“Human” finish Scarlet

They both sigh in frustration “This is going to be long case” said Scarlet

Later that night, Aron came to the lab, he sees Nicolas Sleeping on the couch as Scarlet is working on the computer with her report of the day/night; he got close to her desk and made a small cough to get her attention, which she didn’t give to him.

Aron lean forward “Aren’t you supposed to be at home?” ask Aron staring at her

“Aren’t you supposed to be sleeping?” ask Scarlet still in the computer

Aron sees her from head to toe “How long have you been here?” he frown his eyes brows and stare at her again

“42 hours and counting to 72 hours” answer Scarlet

“Almost Three days!” Aron got surprise that this tiny woman that he loves manage to stay awake this long

An alarm clock sound and Scarlet stood up and ‘walk’ toward Nicolas, she kick him out of the sofa “Hey you, it’s your turn now” she glare at Nicolas

Nicolas glares back at her “No need to kick me out of the sofa” he said gritting his teeth

Scarlet throw herself in the couch and fell directed into slumber, she slept like a log on that couch, Nicolas ‘walk’ toward the desk and started to write his report, Aron is shock by the scene that is playing right his before his eyes. He back away from the lab and walk back to his desk, he turn on his computer and started to work in the case.

The next morning, Titania and Otto arrive at the agency to find their leader/boss sleeping on the desk, Otto pokes him on the head, he is knock out cold. Titania, grab one of the three coffees that she bought and put it on his desk, then she head to the lab. What she find is worse than yesterday, they were like walking zombies, but now is a war zone, Nicolas is sleeping on the couch, half of him is lying on the floor and Scarlet is sleeping on the floor with some papers around her. A few seconds later Otto came on Titania’s side and stare at the war zone these two are in, Titania walk toward Scarlet’s table and put some coffee on it.

Scarlet sat down on the floor, rubbing her eyes “Coffee?” she said tiered but happy by the smell

Titania and Otto smile at her cuteness, then Titania put the coffee near Nicolas and he suddenly grab it, scaring and screaming the s**t out of her, he glare at her and mumble his thank you, that’s when Otto laugh out loud, he realize that when Scarlet is extremely tired, she becomes sweet and passive, as for Nicolas, he become aggressive and in a very bad mood, it turns out Scarlet and Nicolas switch personalities. They both drank their coffees but nothing has change on their behaviors, they started to clean the lab, when Titania and Otto were about to leave, Scarlet stop them and tell them to send Aron down too. A couple of minutes later, Aron came to the lab wearing the same clothing he was wearing yesterday, Scarlet didn’t pay too much of attention, her mind was fill with shower and bed, Nicolas the same.

Scarlet yawns “Alright, We found out yesterdays that the murder is a human, she might had found a way to trick J.J Champ to jump the roof to his death, or something, or maybe she try to push him away wield he was drunk...” she click the mouse to change the results

“...These are human tissues, in both our victims, which indicate that they were murder by the same person...” continue Nicolas

Follow up by Scarlet, they both walk to an open area, where they were a tub and a row of cement blocks “...We made different types of scenes that could fit out profit; we know that our murder is a woman, based on the tissue results here. Let’s say that the first murder is with the J.J Champ, he is drunk, laughing and this murder been a fan or something wants him dead, so this is how she would do it...” Scarlet explain and then she got into position

Nicolas turn his head to one of the two guys in the room “I’m not feeling like acting with her so, any volunteers?” ask Nicolas

Aron move to the front of Scarlet, she is even so tiered that she doesn’t care who it is “Alright agent Kingston, can you act as a drunk guy” said Scarlet

“How drunk are we talking about?” ask Aron

“Heavily drunk” answer Scarlet

Aron pose a heavily drunk man, then Scarlet began to pose as the murder accompanying the drunk victim, the pretend to laugh and sing and all those things, then she grab his neck and peck his lips, Aron’s eyes widen, he wanted to deepen the kiss, but then he felt like someone put something on his neck, then she push him, making him trip on the line cement block and he fell to the ground. He stare at Scarlet, she look at him with a very unemotional face, he then touch his neck and realize that there was a rope on it, that is when it hit him, J.J Champ was too drunk to use his powers on a normal human, would mean that she is even more stronger than him.

“J.J Champ was so heavily drunk that his strength is equal to a child, which give the murder an advantage to push him, he try to find a way to grab into something and grab her arms instead, scratching her by mistake, but she needed to distract him so she could put the rope around his neck and a heavily drunk guy kissing a willingly woman, was the best method. Now on to the Lucinda’s case...” said Scarlet not looking directly to Aron’s eyes, but explaining the method

Nicolas continue “...As we know we found our second victim was inside the tub of the first victims house, so we tough that since Lucinda is none other than J.J Champs girl, which is true, they weren’t married so, Scarlet and Titania, would you please” said and ask Nicolas

Scarlet and Titania got into their place, doing their scene as Nicolas explain “Alright, Lucinda got out of the bath, the murder open the bathroom door and sees this woman she has never saw before, she fights with the victim and then by the struggle she push the victim to the shower wall and fall down, the murder gets anxious and fills the tub with cold water, Ice and spray the entire bathroom with Jasmine s***h and cream her with jasmine lotion, form X product fabric that are located only at X store” finish Nicolas

“The murder was jealous of Lucinda, because she was in love with J.J Champ, and since he won’t chose anyone that is not Lucinda, she murder her and then murder him because she won’t accept the fact that he would never accept her” said Titania

The rest thought about it and agree to the hypothesis, but they need strong evidence to crime this murder, which they still don’t know who it could be.

Aron stood up “Alright, you two great work, take the rest of the day off, the others we are going to start from scratch, starting on those fan letters of his” commanded Aron

Nicolas and Scarlet’s eyes shine like a child that got a new toy, wield Otto and Titania groan in union. The two Scientists ran as fast as their tired feet could carry, and the other member of the team, walks their energetic feet to the evidence room.

Scarlet never felt so happy to be at her apartment and bed, she feels like flying to cloud nine, she used her Dragons speed to eat and take a shower, right now she is curl up on her bed and sleeping like a baby, that is until her phone started to ring, she literary roar her lungs out and grab he phone to answer it.

“Whoever it is, I don’t care what you are going to say or ask, but please for the love of God, Jesus and Holy Maria, let me have a good night rest!!!” she roar at the caller

"Wow and I thought that Titania was a Scary woman when she is mad, but you beat her at that department too, Scarlet" said the caller

“F**k Agent Kingston, what do you want?” she answer rubbing her tiered eyes

"I want to talk about that kiss that we had in the lab this morning" said Aron on the other line

“You mean that peck I gave you, we were just acting” answer Scarlet

"Maybe to you, but not to me, I wanted more than just a peck Scarlet" said Aron

“And I want to sleep, Good Night!” shouted Scarlet and hung up

She turn her phone off, and fell to the bed angry, she roll and turn on the bed, Scarlet turn to see the ceiling, She is thinking of the small innocent peck she gave to Aron, every fiber on her body scream to kiss him, but she knows better to let her past emotions get the better of her, but she also wander, how come it hurt so much not been near him.

Aron on the other side, he is leaning on a wall, staring into space, closing his eyes as a flash back of the counted of times when they kiss, and the peck he got from her today, he open his eyes, Aron thought that is been 8 years since they kiss, even if it was just an act, he can get rid of the fact that her lips are soft and warm, just like he remember. Aron’s train of thoughts stop when Otto, yell about finding something, Aron walk toward his team where he left them to read countless of letter of different fans. They found one that the scent matches the one that they all smell and became familiar with, the writing is very, polite, but very demanding, they bag it and put it on the table, Aron knows not to mess with the bull, but this case is getting on everyone’s nerves, they have two victims, a male champion, a female murder and a scary Forensic Scientist team sleeping, then it hit him, as he remembers the kiss and the stage they do, if Nicolas wanted to act, Scarlet would kiss him and not Aron, would made him jealous about it, but Nicolas is Aron’s co-worker, would mean that J.J Champ and Lucinda Maple, were murder by someone that worked with him. He left in a hurry the agency and head to Scarlet’s home, once he was in front of her door, Aron took a deep breath and knock on the door, he could hear her groan with his Dragon hearing, she unlock the door rubbing her eyes out, she sees her intruder and glare at Aron.

“Before you close that door hear me out” he said in a hurry

“You got 10 seconds” she answer directly

“What if it was Nicolas you kiss and not me?” Aron ask

“Is this a joke, because is not funny” she glare at him

“Scarlet think about it, if you kissed Nicolas and not me, I would be incredibly jealous at him for kissing you, I would hate him for doing just that little thing, and not because of my huan half, but as my dragon half...” said Aron

Scarlet though for a moment “Let me get this straight, Lucinda is J.J Champ's mate and you are telling me that someone near one of the two victims is the killer?” she looks at him

“Yes” he answer her question
