I hear muffled voices of what sounds like a thousand people. My body is stiff I can’t move. My eyes feel heavy I’m unable to open them. I want to cry, I want to scream but my mouth won’t open, my voice for some reason stuck in my throat.

‘Where am I?’ Is all I’m thinking

The voices are making my head hurt immensely I need them to go away.

My heart is beating fast in my chest like it could pop out. I can hear a beeping sound close by, I can hear many beeping sounds. I start to panic and then I tell myself to concentrate.

I start to control my breathing and now able to open my mouth i manage to block the sounds and can now only hear the beeping which sounds pretty close to me. I’m startled when I hear a voice that sounds like it’s in my head. But it’s a mans voice and just sounds foreign.

“Welcome back to life sleeping beauty” the voice says

That doesn’t sound like it came from around me but like it’s right in my head, what’s going on

“So you’re just gonna Ignore me once again”

Now I’m certain it’s in my head

Mortified I try harder to open my eyes until they pop open.

I look around me, it looks like I’m in a hospital but the room is empty and it’s dark in here.

“Hello” I say cringing at the sound of my hoarse voice

“Hello to you too, thanks for finally acknowledging me, I was beginning to worry you still couldn’t hear me little Cherub” the voice says

This time it’s not in my head but somewhere in the dark room.

“Where are you? Who are you? What do you want?” I ask worriedly

Have I finally gone insane or am I actually dead?

“Oh Alayne, I’m everywhere and nowhere” the voice says now sounding more concentrated on one place.

“Wha- what do you mean?”

“I mean I’m here and everywhere else” the voice gets more natural now and right in front of me I see a body appear from thin air.

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!”

I scream s**t scared and confused

“Damn girl, you’re loud as hell, lord forgive me”

the guy in front of me says closing his ears with his hands

“Am I dead? Oh my god I’m dead aren’t I? Is this heaven? Nah this must definitely be hell

Are you an Angel? You’re the one I saw on the balcony, you had wings, I’m definitely dead. Oh God!” I say getting up from the bed and pacing around frantically

I look to the guy and he’s just smiling, amused

“What?” I ask pausing

“Do you really not know what’s going on? Did Janelle really never tell you? Im gonna have fun with this one” he says smiling at the last part

“Tell me what? What do I need to know and how do you know my mom? Who are are you?”

“All in due time my dear for now you’ve got some company and I’ve got to go. Till next time my dear, tata” he says before sprouting wings and flying out the room

I sit back onto the bed shocked and confused. I walk to the door and when I open it I realize I'm definitely in a normal hospital. A nurse notices me and quickly runs to me before calling to a doctor

They lead me back into to room switching on the lights and the doctor begins to check me.

They look at my vitals and everything else asking if my legs hurt, if I know my name and if I remember what day it is and all that.

“You young lady are a miracle” the doctor says.

“You fell from a distance that should have killed you but here you are, alive and without a single scratch on you. If anything better.”

“What do you mean better?”

“Well miss Bishop we got your medical records and noticed that you’re 100 percent fine. No more asthma, no more anemia no more anything that kept you going back to hospitals every few months”

“But how’s that possible? I’ve been anemic my entire life and my asthma has been an issue since I was eight how could they just go away? And how do I not have any broken bones? I know I fell from the balcony I even felt my bones break when I hit the ground before blacking out.”

“Well right now even I have no answer for you miss Bishop, but we’ll keep running some tests to see what exactly is going on. I am not a religious man but this is definitely the work of a greater being. You’re a lucky woman”

The doctor draws some blood and is about to walk out when I suddenly feel a piercing pain on my back and drop to the floor screaming

I feel like a thousand knives are cutting through my skin and I start to bleed through the scrubs I’m in.

The nurse tries to get me up and I push her into the wall on the other side and she falls limp to the floor.

The doctor calls in more nurses and doctors and they rush in to help me but I push them all away with brutal strength most not able to even get up

Nurses try to pin me down to sedate me but I throw them all to the walls hard I keep screaming and trying to reach my back to soothe the pain. I’m in tears. I can’t take it. I cry and plead to be saved from the pain when I look up and see the grey eyes from earlier looking at me.

He looks worried but also calm. He slowly approaches and I start to calm down the pain still there but my attention diverted to him. I watch with tears in my eyes as he slowly walks to me and holds my hand and I feel the pain hit even harder but I don’t throw him like the rest instead I cream in place and dig my nails into his hands and then suddenly just as the pain came it disappears like it wasn’t even there.

The nurses and doctors who are still able to, approach me again and I feel a needle enter my arm and I calm down with the strangers hand still in mine I feel my consciousness fade and I close my eyes the strangers smile being the last thing I see before darkness consumes me once again.
