DIABLO A week. That is all the time left to figure out what the hell to do about this mess. The old version of me would have handled it easily. A few more nights with her, then gone without looking back. No guilt. No regrets. That routine worked plenty of times before. That man does not exist anymore. Doing that to her feels impossible. Even with a clean slate waiting for me, life would be hell without her in it. Every waking moment would be filled with questions. Where is she. What is she doing. Who is she with. Taking her along is wrong. She has a real life here. Friends. Family. Roots. Dragging her into my world would ruin her. Leaving her behind is the only answer. Vanishing alone is the only safe option. Arrangements will be made. People will watch over her once I am gone. S
