After the Night
What are you supposed to do when you’re meant to show up for work but you were attacked the night before? I keep turning the thought over and over in my head.
Should I go in or stay home? I need the money so badly, but after what happened last night, maybe it isn’t such a good idea.
Joe ran off like a scared cat when I needed him the most. How can I ever trust him again? Still, at least the men who attacked me won’t be back. They’re gone for good, and I can’t say I’m sorry about it after what they tried to do.
But what do I do about Joe? How can I work for a man who left me like that? If I don’t go in, I won’t get the money he owes me, and I need it.
The bills keep stacking up, and Aria depends on me for my share to keep us both afloat. I can’t let her down.
