The Shattered Prophecy

SHE'S AWAKE

It was four days and still no reaction from Rachael. Lizzy was very worried. After class, Lizzy would always come to the infirmary to see Rachael's condition. Lucas, Jay, Lizzy, Kyler, Liam, Jezel, Gabriel and all the teachers all stared at Rachael's figure on the bed. They tried all the tests on her, but it all gave them one answer. There was nothing wrong with her.

A teacher who had been observing Rachael since she came to the infirmary suddenly said "how can someone who has no health issues be in a coma for four days? She is perfectly fine. All the machines say she is sleeping and yet no one can wake her up, not even with the machines we have here". Emily looked at the teacher who spoke and said" Mr. Oscar, we have been observing her and there is nothing wrong with her so far". Immediately Lizzy heard this, she started bawling as she said. "What if she was put under a spell, or she was cursed because she told me that her uncle doesn't like her, what if he, what if he...bahhhhhh".

Jezel looked at Lizzy with disdain and said "If you are going to be nosy and cry, you might as well get out. She lashed out her anger at Lizzy. She's been angry for the past four days. Because of this new student, no one pays attention to her, because Rachael hasn't been to classes for the past two days. Everyone was always asking her because she left a deep impression on everyone after the incident with Theo. Even the teachers all came to see what was wrong with the new student, who was said to have a healthy body but was still in a coma. Actually, the main reason why the lecturers were all concerned is that, first, she's perfectly fine. Second, just like Liam and Emily, they were intrigued by this new student who they couldn't read, as if she was a dead corpse. They couldn't even tell if she was conscious or unconscious, or if she was really sleeping.

While everyone was immersed in their thoughts, they suddenly heard a loud piercing scream.

"Noooooooooooooooo"!! They all turned in the direction of the scream, and they were all suprised with what they saw. "The girl who fainted for two days, and she had been in a coma, lying like she was an alien who wasn't attached to earth was now awake drenched in sweat as if she had been running a marathon race, her eyes red and swollen like she had been crying.

"Where am I?" Rachael asked as she looked at her surroundings. Immediately she saw Lizzy and Lucas, she stood up and held their hands while checking if they were real or not.

"Lizzy, Lucas, are you okay? You're not going to leave me, right? Rachael asked them while crying. In Rachael's dream, she saw her friends dying, bleeding just like how she saw her parents at their last moments, so seeing the two new friends she made recently at the same conditions as her parents, made her very emotional.

But the people she was worried about were confused.

"Are you okay?" Emily asked, getting everyone out of their moments of daze. Rachael turned to see the person who called her and was stupefied, the teachers and the six devils, am I dreaming, she thought to herself.

"Are you talking to me? "Rachael asked, not feeling sure of what she asked.

"Of course, Rachael, everyone is concerned because you've been asleep for two days'' Lucas said, trying to tell Rachael that everyone is here because you have been asleep for four days without showing any sign that you are asleep except for the fact that her heart was beating. They would have all thought she was dead.

"WHATTTTTT !!" Rachael shouted as she looked at Lizzy, waiting to confirm if what Lucas said was really true.

"Yes Rachael, Lucas is right, you were just asleep without shaking no matter who or what we called you, you didn't even shake. If not for the fact that your heart was beating, we would have buried you!! " Jay said, as if he was telling jokes.

Rachael was speechless, "buried me" she thought.

"Since she's fine now, we will take our leave", the teachers said as they all turned to leave. Gabriel stared at Rachael, not wanting to say anything, but Liam was right. He couldn't read anything out of the student. He turned and left,

"Are you really okay Rach? I mean, why were you screaming? Did you have a bad dream? Lizzy asked her friend.

"I'm fine Liz, and it's just a dream" Rachael replied as she shrugged Lizzy's question off. Not wanting to give up Lizzy asked again, "why were you staring at the wall in the canteen hall, because the flower painted on the wall wasn't anything intriguing about the wall. So have you seen it before?"

Emily, Liam, Kyler, Jezel, Lucas and Jay all looked at her waiting for her to answer because they really wanted to ask her that question.

"I just thought the flower was familiar, so I went closer to take a look, besides I am very thirsty" Rachael answered them and went closer to the bed to get water. They all knew that was not the reason, but decided not to press on the matter anymore. Jezel scoffed as she stamped her feet and walked out. Liam joined her as there was no reason to stay there anymore.

"What's her problem? "Rachael said as she looked at the angry Jezel who walked with her head high as if everyone was beneath her.

"Who sent you people? Why did you tie me up, how have I offended you?" Frank cried as he asked. "Someone put a bounty of Three Million Dollars on your head and many people would do anything to get it. The SHADOW COUNCILS, does that ring a bell?" Iris asked nonchalantly.

"What, Am done for good? '' Frank murmured to himself. "Please spare my life, I promise to give you all my wealth, please spare me!!" Frank pleaded in agony when he heard the name of the people who put the bounty on his head. "Save you, you're kidding right, what if after saving you, you turn your back on us, who will save us then??" Alex said in humor. "You don't want to actually kill him, do you?" Alex whispered to Iris. "No, I want to get information on what he is supplying to the Shadow Council''. Iris replied, she got closer to the prisoner and looked at him. "Who are you?" Iris asked.

"My name is Gibbs Frank". Frank replied immediately like a puppet, "Good boy, what do you do for a living?'' she asked again. "I kill people for money. I sell legal and illegal herbs and weapons. I also do human trafficking too". Frank replied again. "What do you sell to the Shadow Council?" Iris asked. "I, I sell a herb named RHIZOME. I don't know what the herb is used for, but I know that it is illegal to sell and buy herbs like that. I supply them in large quantities every week". Frank talked about all his dealings with them.

"Great. You have outlived your usefulness, so forget about your 37 years of life and live in hiding for the rest of your life". Iris commanded in an oppressive tone. "Alex, let's leave this place". She said as she picked up her things and left the basement they were in.
